It just wouldn’t work in any other sig.

Dave RichI really like Driving By The Light! It starts out slow and then builds. Very creative. I like that! Got a “Phil Collins” type voice.
Dave,
Do you play piano & guitar on that song? It’s outstanding! I like Simply Falling too!
How do I get a copy of your CD?

ParticipantThanks for the listen Dave!
the album is available on http://www.daverichband.com in the shop section as a cd or as an mp3 collection- and I did hear the other day from out distribution company that it is now available on i-tunes (only after a year of waiting hehe) if you prefer your music apple-flavoured
ya know it’s funny – you’re the second guy who’s compared my voice to phil collins. It’s very strange, and must be happening with age I guess. I certainly wish I could hit his high notes.
On driving – I played one of the guitar parts, but only a rhythmic chopping part. My guitarist Brian Garrett did the great lead work on Driving, and all the other electric guitar parts. Pretty much all the acoustic stuff is my playing. It’s definately one of our favourite tracks to do live and that middle section is always a good candidate for some improvisation-time during the set.
Unfortunately we’ve had to go back to the 4/4 version of the way it is as people just can’t dance to the 5/4 version – so we keep that one just for jazzier gigs now.
Kind regards
Dave Rich

Participantwe did a show last night in Cornwall and afterwards the manager of the venue said “ya know, you guys sound just like Nick Hornby – with that piano and all that”
He did mean bruce and the compliment was well received.
Kind regards

I can see that, but the “Phil Collins” type voice makes you different!
Your “two hand independece” is generally a different tempo?

That’s a damned insult – Nick Hornby is a Gooner.
** Non-football related note: a “Gooner” follows a team called Woolwich, originally from South East London.
