ParticipantNo Taping on the Solo Tour
I was turned away in Spartanburg and went around back and talked with the tour guys. They confirmed that Bruce wasn’t allowing any taping for this tour. I did notice a show from Richmond on etree today and it sounds great. Needless to say, I am enjoying the gift of the boxset that Bruce gave us instead of allowing the audience taping…

ParticipantThis is just a guess but,
My guess is Bruce is planning on putting out a Solo CD. He mentioned not having one out, and it being a possibility.
I did notice the FOH engineer recording to a hard drive. Which reinforces this guess.

KeymasterJust as a funny aside, even if I had decided to tape this show, I happened to be sitting beside a guy from Columbia Records… so I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle!

Seriously, I’m not too concerned with what the venue or record company wants in terms of recordings I make for my own use only, but knowing Bruce himself didn’t want shows taped would give me pause. I read this on a taper board, does it jive with what you’ve heard from Bruce?
i did ask the crew about the taping situation. wayne said something along the lines of bruce being tired of hearing tapes, and didn’t seem to want captures from the aud out for these shows. he said something about the shows really being in bruce’s head onstage and he didn’t want to hear the sound from out in the crowd. i kinda followed him, but didn’t really get it. but it is what it is.

ParticipantI checked in with http://www.munckmusic and they submitted a bunch of 2006 shows, full band and solo to see what will be made available.
They basically said that Bruce is still reviewing the shows with his management and that nothing has moved yet. They are trying to get some of the shows out, but it’s in the hands of Bruce and his management at the moment.
They said that Bruce has to listen and picks only shows that he feel would be enjoyable for all to hear. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a couple solo shows out there in the near future.
The last ones loaded were in June 2006. The London Solo show is fun, because he realizes most of the people only know his hits and the Denmark show is just amazing. 3 cds of great tunes and funny conversation. Well worth getting a copy.
