I wanna know what monkey they let at “the way it is” and “the valley road”

Sounds to me like they butchered the audio with some VERY heavy noise reduction software, there’s even a drop-out in the left channel.

I can’t believe they didn’t have a CD copy lying about which would’ve sounded better than try to get something usable off of the tapes.

    Anyway.

That’s my grumble – only just got it this morning, I’m sure the rest will be fine. :)

    Kind regards

The only problem I had was that they didn’t include the Mandolin Rain video. Also, the Another Day live footage cuts out as it is about to go into something else. Oh yeah, I guess I have three problems, they used the studio version of Rainbow’s Cadillac instead of a live cut. I always heard that song live and when I did finally hear the studio version I was sooo let down. The studio version sounds kinda cheezy and does not do it justice, that song was meant to be heard live. So I guess thats my three cents so to speak.

I’ll take the DVD as a document, but I don’t think I will watch it repeatedly. I heard Bruce mention once that it was shown on HDnet so I have my fingers and toes crossed that an HD DVD will be on the horizon or given that he belongs to Sony a Blu ray.

Any idea why they didn’t include the Mandolin Rain video?

Yo Bruce, Psyched about the new box set but was disappointed by the apparent lack of inclusion of the videos for ‘Mandolin Rain’ and ‘Every Little Kiss’. Sure they have a dash of 80’s cheese but some of us enjoy that! Any reason why you didn’t include them? Hope to see you in Burlington, VT soon…..we miss you! Rob A. PS You’ve played my requests twice when you’ve played at the Flynn and done an outstanding job (Jarrett and Guaraldi)….I’ve got more for ya!

    Bruce’s Reply:
I didn’t include them because I think they are cringeworthy, sorry about that.

Maybe he didn’t include the Mandolin Rain video because it brings back memories of his brother John getting bit on the hand by the dog in that video…

    (True story!!)

    :P

well, I’ve watched/listened to it all now.

Certainly some nice stuff in there – I’d never heard the shaka-khan track, that is an awesome song – glad that was there.

I still feel that the 3 nights DVD is a better buy,- that is a brilliant concert and I watch it regularly – but the intersections is worthy of a listen – purely to hear those old songs again.

It is me or did they re-record “lost soul”? – I preferred the original but alas I had it on cassette tape and god knows where that’s gone now heh – still a great track though.

    Kind regards

    Dave Rich
