ParticipantIf anyone has any other videos of the grateful dead playing the weight with Bruce, please post them!!!!
In my own opinion, I think the weight, Jack Straw, and Maggie’s Farm were the 3 best Grateful Dead songs during the Bruce era.

ParticipantHey Jeff,
Just for grins and giggles, what do you think was the best Bruce song that the Dead ever did while he played with them??? or, for that matter, afterwards with The Other Ones??Mine is, and always will be, “White Wheeled Cadillac”.
Mmmmmm……… they sure make it smooth………….. 😉

ParticipantThat would be tough to pick just one of them…….. If I had to choose though, I would have to say Valley Road because it stands out from all the other songs he ever did with the Grateful Dead or even the Other Ones. It was too bad that after 12/90 he never played it again with the Grateful Dead during his tenure and guest appearences. It was very unique from all the other material he played with the Dead. I never much cared for Stander on the Mountain much. His version is a lot better than the one he did with the Grateful Dead. My top three would have to be Valley Road, WWL, and of course Rainbows Cadillac with the Other Ones.
I have yet to see a video of Valley Road with the Grateful Dead and keep looking all over the torrent world to find one……
Miss Virginia and other Bruuuuce fans, what do you think is the best Grateful Dead cover Bruce has ever played at his own concerts?
For that category I would have to say its a tie between Jack Straw and Standing on the Moon. Both songs have a unique sound to them when Bruce plays them. I know Bruce tries to avoid playing Jack Straw because he does not want to be known for just one song from the Deadicated album. I understand that completely because I am sure he gets more requests for that song wherever Deadheads follow him.
Just as a side note… It is snowing like crazy where I am. We must have at least 1 foot of snow out there….another foot is expected during the afternoon!!!!
