I am wondering if others have songs that they could take or leave in the band situation that they rediscovered when played in a Solo situation.
I Am listinening the A night on the Town from the Jazzhouse in Copenhagen( Thank you Bruuuce.com for leading me to all of this legally wonderful down loadable music) and just being flooded by all aspects of the song.
When the Range version was released and for a long time after I was pretty much indifferent to the tune but now all versions including the original studio track are among my favorites.
I have to say that NOTT is my favorite song that Bruce does solo. Gives me chills each time and I never get tired of listening to it… 😮
I think “Country Doctor” stands up very well when Bruce plays it solo. Another one that I’m really impressed with is “Sticks and Stones”. Just is a different song when Bruce plays it solo…
(Then again, they ALL are!!!)

I’d add “Line in the Dust” to your list, simply because it so plainly was NOT a solo piano song, and I doubt was ever intended to be.
Bruce adapted it and started playing it live last year in solo shows. “Mirror On The Wall” comes under the same heading, but then I love the band version of that, so it doesn’t fit your your question!
There a lots of songs that I like a lot in Band version that also take on a new demension is the solo setting also. I am just struck by how much NOTT was elevated in my esteem when the solo version became available.
