By the way, has a little bird been whispering to you about a potential Charlotte show or is this just an intuition? You know, like when someone knows it’s going to rain when their knee or elbow tingles? 😆

ParticipantHere is some information about the show and tickets from Friday’s Greensboro News and Record:
Hornsby to perform in Greensboro
GREENSBORO – Bruce Hornsby will perform a solo piano concert July 22 during the Eastern Music Festival.
The concert will begin at 8 p.m. in Dana Auditorium at Guilford College.
Hornsby is a three-time Grammy winner who has sold more than 10 million records since his multi-platinum debut in 1986.
Tickets for the show go on sale Monday. Prices range from $35-$48 and are available through the Coliseum Box office at (888) 397-3100 or online at http://www.tickets.com.

ParticipantAfter much confusion, you can purchase tickets by calling 888-397-3100. They are not available online at this time.
As a point of information, the show will be at the Dana Auditorium at Guilford College not Greensboro Coliseum. It turns out the Eastern Music Festival’s box office is at the Greensboro Coliseum.
A little warning that ticket prices are almost double of what they are at Boone. I don’t know why.
Look at it this way. If you average the price of Greensboro and Boone together, you got a good deal!

ParticipantAs I posted earlier, I’ll try to see what’s shaking for the G’boro show. Although you have already gotten WAY more info than I could have.
P.S. Hey, China Doll, watch out! I thought I was the queen of innuendos!! 😉

The confusion was not with you at all! The folks at Eastern Music Festival assumed the folks at ticket.com were ready to handle the tickets. The folks at ticket.com didn’t know a thing about it. After many call to the folks at Eastern Music Festival, they finally decided it was time to clear things up with the folks at tickets.com. Around 11:30 EST, the folks at tickets.com had tickets available by phone only.
The moral of the story is………When you get too many folks involved, someone is going to drop the ball! 😆

ParticipantHi, first post here. I bought my tickets for the Greensboro show today. Did find out something interesting. The $35.00 tickets are general admission. The seats are the last 3- 4 rows and the first 3- rows and the $48.00 tickets are reserved seats. I bought the $35.00 tickets. Really looking forward to this show, have not been to a solo show, plus the venue is only a mile from my house.

ParticipantWelcome, oh kindred spirit! Jackie and I welcome new Bruuuce FANatics in the Piedmont. Checked your profile; boy are you secretive!
Mind sharing a few intimate (okay, not THAT intimate) details about HamSalad2?

I don’t think I’m going to be able to make the Greensboro show after all, MVF.
So you’ll have to take care of the “crankin’ and tyin’ and muzzlin'” by yourself!

ParticipantI have some hotel info for Greensboro!
As far as I know, there is no hotel walking distance from the venue. There are two hotels that are close and if you call the hotel direct, they will give you a good discount. You need to tell them you are visiting Guilford College, which you are, and they will give you the Guilford College rate.
One is the Clarion Hotel, which use to be the Radisson, and their rate is $69.oo. Their number is 336-299-7650.
The other one is the Microtel Inn. Their rate is $52.00 and their telephone number is 336-547-7007.
Both hotels are right off I-40 and just a couple miles from Guilford.
As far as a meetup place, I know of two places that are walking distance to the venue, but it is Sunday and need to call them to see if they are open. If both are those are closed on Sunday, I’ve found a good place just a couple of miles from the venue that is open on Sunday.
You guys don’t know it, but we have a great connection in Greensboro! I’ll let you guess who that is. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! 😉

Lake Lanier, GAPS Hey Vic & Countrydoctor! I’ve found you guys a cheap hotel so there is no excuse! You don’t know who might show up!
PPS Careyon, are you coming to Boone or Greensboro. I owe you a dinner!

Thanks Chuck! Treah (Jackie) is from there also and on top of it. I don’t want to list any places yet so not to confused anyone. It is Sunday and a lot of places are closed. Please shoot me an e-mail and I’ll fill you in for your input. Thanks!

ParticipantThere is a place across from the Guilford College campus called Elizabeth’s Pizza that would be great for a meetup. It is almost directly across from Dana Auditorium in a group of shops called the Quaker Village Shopping Center.
The address is: 5607-A West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC, 27410
Phone: 336.299.1772
For more details, go to http://www.triaddiner.com/view_rest.php?restid=127
I would like to extend my compliments to HamSalad2 (Chuck) and David Day for their invaluable help in finding this information.
See you all July 22!
