ParticipantI’m not well-versed in Ricky Skaggs/bluegrass songs, so here is the list, with a few guesses thrown in:
1.Fiddlin’ Boys? 2.Instrumental Bluegrass{great solos by Bruce & the fiddle player} 3.Ridin’ That Midnight Train 4.Toy Heart{from Ricky’s new album} 5.Bluegrass Breakdown{instrumental, also from Ricky’s new album} 6.Song C (Song D)>The Way It Is 7.(Song D) Mandolin Rain 8.Across The Rocky Mountains(Little Sadie)Across The Rocky Mountains 9. The Dreaded Spoon 10. Sheep Shell Corn(Happy Birthday) 11.Come On Out 12. Darlin’ Corey>? 13. White Wheeled Limousine>Long Black Veil>White-Wheeled Limousine 14. Simple Life 15. Sis Draper 16. Uncle Pen 17. (Will The Circle Be Unbroken) Valley Road 18. Super Freak
Encore: 1. Cluckin’ Hen? 2. Pig In A Pen
This show was great! Ricky, Bruce & the band didn’t even take an intermission!

And she did that WITHOUT the preprinted set list (I was SOOOO disappointed to see that list). Has that been the norm at all the Bruce/Ricky concerts???

My memory isn’t bad,but 20 songs plus the parts of other compositions included within songs would be quite a challenge to memorize!

But I should point out, I distinctly remember seeing preprinted setlists on stage at a couple Noisemakers shows, but they were not followed to the letter. And this *may* have only been the Villa Montalvo shows in ’02 that were being filmed, where they probably had to give the crew a heads up on what to expect.

ParticipantI hope that’s the case. The spontaneous nature of Bruce’s concerts is one of the reasons I’ve gone back again and again (ands again and again….. I think Raleigh was somewhere in the thirties….). I realize not everyone can keep up with Bruce’s song changes – sometimes three or four at one time – and the set list is necessary in some situations, but please, oh please Bruce, don’t make it the norm. I want to be able to have my bears deliver my requests and know that there’s a chance my guy will play them. 😉

Anyone go last night, did anyone grab the setlist.
Going to both show in Ontario, tonight and tomororw, seems like there will be no one there as you can still get front row tickets for Friday’s showHow long did they play for and when did they come on stage?
thanks -
