ParticipantLooks like it’s you and me, Allisa!
Well, you, me and all the wonderful people who come along with us for the ride…I take my best friend with me every year and we have a good, old fashioned “girl’s weekend”…it doesn’t get any more fun than that! Unless we all hook up, that is….

ParticipantHey!!
Just got my tickets! My husband and I will be there on Friday night. What night are you all going to be there? Maybe we can all meet up one of the days. We will also be staying over on Thursday and Friday night.
Hope to get to meet someone! Can’t wait!

ParticipantHi! I’m coming out from suburban Chicago. Camping in Tillamook Friday night and Lincoln City on Saturday night. Thankfully the weather is going to be good! Driving up to Mt. St. Helens & Ranier on the way to Seattle and flying back Monday. Looking forward to having a good time.

ParticipantIn the meantime there’s a writeup here:
Looks like a good time but 90 minute shows? Kind of relieved I wasn’t able to make the trip.

That set list says it…no sense repeating it.
But it was a fun night. Bruce and the band played well for the limited time they were given. It is true they wanted people out of there and back on the floor to gamble, which I admit I did some. So it wasnt the usual show most are used to with long songs and the band jamming. Which we all love. It was my first Bruce with the Noisemakers show, so even with the shorter then usual songs, I was in heaven. Loved every minute of it and it was worth the trip from Texas to Oregon and back again.
Even got to get up on the stage to dance with the other ladies while Bruce and the guys played.
Only issue I had was the venue told us the stage manager wouldn’t allow pictures, so unfortunatly I didn’t get any and would have loved to have some to show, but I politely put the camera away as I wasn’t going to be kicked out of my first Bruce with the Noisemakers show.
Hope this helps a little!

ParticipantWell David, I really enjoyed the Friday night show…it was a different experience than usual, with the band rather comically introducing themselves as they entered the stage, ie:” Hello, my name is Bobby Read and I’ll be playing saxophone for you this evening.”…..and a short, tight, thoroughly packed setlist, played without the usual preamble, entertaining stories or long interludes. But looking at their faces, and talking with Bruce and Bobby later, it was obviously a ball for all of them, and maybe more fun just for being so different and unexpected. You know how Bruce loves throwing curves and this was simply another one.
I was surprised by a very straightforward, classic interpretation on solo piano to open the show with The Way It Is (spiked by the band’s introductions), by an exquisite new song possibly titled, “When Continents Drift” (help me here Allisa! Monica!) written for the upcoming Broadway musical and a truly moving and uniquely “Bruce” rendition of an old George Jones chestnut (don’t know the title).
The setlist itself was unexpected….they pulled a lot of rabbits out of the hat, stuff you don’t hear that often. I didn’t write the setlist down, so I won’t butcher an attempt at one, but suffice it to say it was a reawakening.
My girlfriend and I rounded out the weekend with some shopping in Seattle and came home Sunday evening.
Monica, I heard Bruce mention your name, but didn’t twig that you were “THAT” Monica until I was off talking to Bobby Read, but when we looked up from our chat you’d already left! I’m so sorry not to have had a chance to spend some time talking with you! Well, next time I hope! And Allisa? Third time lucky, I guess! We’ll plan it better next time.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

ParticipantHi,
A late post on this one. This was a killer for me. We were already just up the Oregon coast on a pre-planned trip and it would have been so easy to drop down for the shows, but no, it was in a casino and my 9 year old daughter couldn’t go to the show. I certainly wasn’t going to drag them down there only to tell my daughter “sorry, you can hang out here while I go check out the show. So we passed. It would have been great to catch them both. Glad to hear they were good shows. Till next time. BTW anyone going to the solo show in WA on Sat Jan 24th? Perhaps we could meet then and say hi and check it out (again, unfortunately without my wife and daughter since its another casino show)
