ParticipantBummer.
So, what wonderful and exciting things did everybody do instead of the Bay Days concert??
I went ahead and travelled to Norfolk to visit with friends. During the worst of the storm, we drove down to Sandbridge Beach to watch the waves. The waves had washed out a three foot drop-off. Mostly we just got sandblasted. I think I am exfoliated for life.
I got my Bruuuce.com shirts in the mail today. Hey, Bryan! You done good!!! But did they HAVE to be Carolina blue???? (my son and all my money goes to NC State).
If anyone is interested in a Hornsby bracelet, send me your address by PM. I’ll let them go for the cost of postage. I have some that say “Me So Hornsby”, some that say “Bruuuce.com” and some that say “May the Hornsby With You”. Bryan, as soon as you let me know how much I owe you for the shirts and shipping, I’ll send the bracelets for Si and Missy so you can send them out with their shirts. David, if you will PM your address to me, I’ll send it on. Monica, I’ll have your shirt and jewelry as soon as you PM your address again (I know, but I keep misplacing it). Jackie, your shirt will go out tomorrow.
Bummer.

ParticipantWish we knew you were in town! I sent you info to your e-mail address @ school. If you didn’t get it, I’ll PM you as well with the info.
Got to meet Lizzie from Lowell, and Dave Rich and his wonderful bride. Just missed meeting Rich…but we have each other’s numbers, so we’ll probably catch up at some point.
I got to do geometry homework with my son instead of the Bay Days (non) event, it’s amazing how much of that I’ve forgotten!

ParticipantI talked to daverich Saturday morning and woke him up!
We had a nice chat, but he was probably in la la land! 😆
I talked to Bryan and daverich Saturday night, but it was so loud at the Taphouse I really couldn’t understand a word! 😆
Rich was suppose to call me when he got there, but…..
MVF, overnighted me some of her meds! 😆
I looked at weather.com and saw how beautiful it was on Sunday!
I tracked my flight and saw that in deed it had arrived early!
I sat at my dock listeneing to Bruce and had a few beers in honor of daverich, wife, Rich, Bryan, MVF, Carey, Trent, molomomolo & Liz.
As I watched the sunset, I realized…..
At the end of the day, when the sun is setting and the cows are coming home…..There is no place I would rather be than Bruuuce! That’s my story and I’m stickin to it! 😆

Participantwell folks,-
we just went to the charlottesville concert (yes we made it- THANKS LIZZIE!!!).
We got to meet bruce backstage and guess what,- we forgot to get the darn t-shirts signed!!!!
We were too busy talking about cockneys and getting pictures taken we clean forgot – I wonder if we post them to him he’ll oblidge…? – anyway…
Good show,- mighty miffed it wasn’t the noisemakers, and all the great bits were bruce bits, but we met and saw him all the same and we will definately be back!
The GREEEEEAAAT news is bruce said he will probably be coming to the uk in 2009!!! – it’ll probably be a solo show, but we’ll definately be happy with that.
Kind regards
Dave Rich

I forget….did I send the little green “mellowed out” meds, or the great big red “Dammitol” ones??? 😉 😉I’m STILL waiting to hear from you about the “Me So Hornsby” bracelet. Send me (by PM) your address, and I’ll send it your way, along with a little surprise…. my treat. And I promise I won’t become some kind of stalker just because I’ll know where you live……..much.

ParticipantOkay, everybody who is wearing their new Bay Days Bruuuce.com shirt, raise your hand!! Bryan, you done good!!! I plan to wear mine to whatever the next concert is that I attend (I hope it’s soon!). Thank you again for going to all the trouble. Perhaps you could auction off the spares?? Give them as prizes in a Bruuuce.com trivia contest?? Send one to Bruce????? Oh, how cool would it be to see him wear THAT at his next concert?!?!

Oh yeah, that definitely sounds like you took the Dammitol.
Why does this remind me of an old parody radio ad I heard decades ago? The soof was “Grace Slick endorsing Flintstones Vitamins” because “I know a thing or two about pills.” They reworked the “White Rabbit” lyrics to be something akin to “one pill looks like Barney, one looks like Betty. And the ones that look like WIlma, they don’t do anything at all. Remember what the dino said, ‘Eat you Fred.'” Or something like that. I think I should scour the ‘net and see if there’s a copy of that lurking.

Does anyone remember the old Saturday Night Live commercial for the medicine Triopenin? This discussion reminds me of that great it of comedy.

And yes, I did finally get to the post office today. There are, as we speak, packages going to Greensboro, Hampton, Georgia, and Texas. Let me know when you receive them. I just hope I got the right stuff in the right packages. David, don’t be disappointd because your package doesn’t rattle……I’ll send your next batch of “f”armaceuticals at a later date.

My favorite SNL commercials were the ones for Bassomatic and Epoxydent.

Beacuse I love you sooo much, Jackie…. here ya go! http://members.cox.net/rdiakun/music/slickstones.mp3. Feel free (all of you) to download it and pass it around or blast it from your car stereo inthe parking lot at work or whatever you feel like doing. Heck, you can even sing along in the airport, if you dare!

Funny! 😆
Ah, it’s nice to be loved
Thanks so much for finding and posting this…I owe you one big favor. This should count as your good deed for today. Actually,it should cover several days worth of kind acts.
I think I might skip the singing along, though. I’m sure the people on the city bus I ride to work each morning already think I’m not quite “all there” when my face bursts into an uncontrollable grin upon hearing a favorite Bruce song on my mp3 player! 😆
Thanks again,Rich.

ParticipantYou know how you can hear a song, and then it gets stuck in your head for the rest of the day??? Well, imagine trying to focus on teaching 16 first graders while “Eat Your Fred” keeps playing over and over in your mind. Not to mention the fact tthat I tend to hum, and “White Rabbit” may not be the most appropriate tune for my students to be hearing. Oh well. It beats “Froggy Went a Courtin'”…………..
