It’s going to be a Saturday night in Northwest WA and it should be fun. I just got tickets for both shows. Anyone else planning on going? Perhaps, I could finally meet some of you others that are often on this site (although I have to admit that I mostly lurk and don’t often post).

Sounds like a “ton of fun”! :D Maybe Allisa and Megan can make it! 8-) They normally go to shows in WA.

Jim, good to hear from you! 8-) You don’t have to be “lurker” anymore! You need to “check in” more often! :D

Actually, I have third row tickets for the Vancouver show the previous night! First time since ’94 that my best friend and I don’t have to travel for hours to see a show….
Should be a very good time…

The Vancouver show sounded like it should be fun. I did briefly think of checking that one out too, but this will be a one stop (albeit for two shows) for me. Skagit isn’t too far from Vancouver, you could do three shows in two nights!

    Jim,

Love your answer in the “Other Artist” category! I think many of us on this board could give that same reply. :)

    Enjoy the Jan. 24th show!

    Jackie,

The answer is true and it fit in the space available. There is a ton of good music out there and I like all types (probably one of the reasons I like Bruce’s music so much is that he plays all types). I see you went with my second choice for the other artist. And thanks, I will enjoy the shows.

    Good Evening,

It has been a busy couple of days since the Saturday evening shows. They were both very good as usual. I have not been disappointed yet. First off, the set lists

    Show 1
Darlin’ Be Home Soon, Your Heart Shall No Longer Be Mine (I think, I had not heard this one before)>Night On the Town, Sneakin Up On Boo Radley, Mandolin Rain (in minor key), Every Little Kiss, What The Hell Happened To Me, Don Of Dons, Talk Of The Town, Intro>Country Doctor, Do You Love Me Still, Gonna Be Some Changes Made (with a classical piece included), The Way It Is, Dreamland (requested on a pair of women’s underwear) Encore: Look Out Any Window

    Show 2
Livin’ The Good Life, Sticks and Stones, In The Low Country, The River Runs Low>(Rag Mama Rag), The End Of The Innocence, Hooray For Tom, Darlin’ Corey, Spider Fingers, The Show Goes On, Here We Are Again (I think, I had not heard this one before), King Of The Hill, The Way It Is (Rapper’s Version) Encore: Standing On The Moon>Halcyon Days

All in all a fine performance and a good mix of his material. I thought it was interesting when he played the River Runs Low and admitted that he “stole” a piece of that from Levon Helm of the band hence the small burst of Rag Mama Rag at the end of that one. He also mentioned during the second show that you guys all want me to play ballads, well he fixed that with a couple of the up tempo ones such as Spider and King of the Hill. He did mention the passing of his nephew only once during both shows just before launching into an emotion packed Standing on the Moon>Halcyon Days combo. I thought it was a fine tribute and an appropriate way to end the night.

    Hey Jim —

Thanks for the setlists and review…always fun to read another fan’s perspective, not to mention just which tunes BH played…for the obsessed, like myself and many others here :P

I’m gonna be lazy here, but were the 2 shows on the same night?

I appreciate your report, too, Jim. I’m amazed Bruce is able to get on stage and perform at all so soon after the passing of R.S. But I suppose the show must go on, and it’s a good tribute to his too-short life.

    Hi Trey,

Yep, two shows in one night, definely made it worth the 240 km round trip!

    Good Evening,

I have been informed of a correction to my set list, the second song of the first show was “I Truly Understand” and it is not new at all, but an old bluegrass standard.

    Hi Si,

Glad to be of assistance. I did think it was rather odd that Bruce came to the Northwest for three show in just two days, but I for one was most glad that he did.
