Bruce often plays little snippets of one song while he is playing the “full version” of another.
This phenomenon occurs during the 11/20/04 Portland show when Bruce and the Noisemakers are playing The Way It Is. It happens within the first minute of the song.
What is the name of that small bit of music?

This show (Aladdin ’04) is getting to be somewhat of a snippet touchstone, if you please…isn’t this the show that ALSO features the ‘snippety’ intro to “Circus”? The one that one of our members’ fathers asked BH to play at this past summer’s Lowell show? (I forget who that was, and am too lazy to search the archives for it at this point
)Speaking of snippets, I FINALLY caught the Webern quote at the end of “King Of The HIll” from Saratoga CA ’04…I know, I know, duh. Yes, even though BH himself references it, someone in the audience calls out “WEBERN!” and then BH does the “Webern Variations” as an intro to “Fortunately Numb.” (Heh.)
Anyhoo…I’ll listen (again, it’s a GREAT) to that Aladdin show to see if I can ascertain…I ain’t promising a thing tho’….. 😯

Video games can eat up lots of time. My current addiction is Wii Music-located at the other end of the game spectrum from Fallout 3,but still fun.
You’re right about the “Circus On The Moon” bit from that show-great memory! Look under the topic Help! in the General Chat section to re-read that interesting request.
I’ve got the Saratoga ’04 show,but have been “saving” it ’til I can really listen with undivided attention;it sounds like a good one.
A hint for the trivia question: The snippet Bruce plays during The Way It Is is from a song some people believe sounds similar to The Way It Is.

Correction — the Webern-heavy first set that I was referring to was Saratoga ’06, NOT ’04. 🙄
And I still have yet to listen to that quote from the Aladdin ’04. I blame Fallout 3. 😳
