    Hello Bruce Forum:

Just a quick greeting and thanks to Mr. Twining for running such a kick-ass web-area. I think I’ve just about read everything on this, so I guess I should take a minute to write something. I’ve been a fan of Bruce since “The Way it Is” first started getting run on the local Top Nine Tonight (!) in the mid eighties, and I think since round ’bout the year 2002, that the Bruce-Band has developed into something even greater than what they had been to that point. Maybe it was a sort of becoming after 20 odd years of tinkering with the formula, maybe it was just a group of great musicians who’d been at it as a band for a while simply gelling, but a switch went on sometime a few years back and since then, they deal only in white hot fire. Which is why I wait patiently for them to fill in the docket-holes and make with some northeast dates in the fall. Until then I’ll be trekking to NJ to check out the summer offerings and I know some of you will be as well. Congrats on that – that’s a nice move. Drop me a line if you like and help with a decision: If you were me and driving three hours from Rhode Island, would you try and get to the Count Basie show, or the one in Bergen?

    Best Regards,
    G.C.

Hi GC and thanks for the kind words.

I tend to agree with your thoughts, and no small coincidence that we’ve had the same band since that year. Sonny Emory came on board then, and everything cranked up a notch.

Wish I were on that North East leg… maybe next year…
