Jay Leno’s new primetime show debuts on NBC on Sept. 14… but he’s pulling out the big musical guns early — Bruce and Eric Clapton will be the musical guests on Thursday, Sept. 17. Leno says he wants to feature innovative musical pairings on his show… Fire up your DVRs!
Think I’ll grill some BBQ squirrel that night! 😆 What do you think SMP? 😆

I’m pretty sure you have to write and they send them to you. There may even be a lottery system involved. But being that this is his first week back, I would guess all the tickets are gone by now. You could always hop on a bird and try to get in the day of the show.
It would be great if Jay stole a page from Kimmel and had the musical acts perform outside to give it more of a concert vibe. Either way, Bruce and King Clapton are gonna set things on fire that night!

That’s the link to tickets. I know they say it takes four to six weeks, but for Bruce I would say its at least worth trying. If I wasn’t still recovering from my shoulder surgery and could go for a trip to CA..I’d probably have tried myself.
I’m sure with the opening week of the show its going to be tough to get tickets..but ya never know.
Good luck to anyone who tries and let us know if anyone gets to go!!

DAvid, not only do I hate BBQ crap, now you have to add both squirrel and Molo to the mix. I think I’ll pass. 😆 I’m just first now recouping from you guys at the Biltmore.
And I don’t think MOnica can eat that either with a sore shoulder. Monica, I’m just trying to help you out here. SMP

Lake Lanier, GAWhen’s the last time a music act got this kind of primetime network exposure? I mean, other than in some cheesy reality-show context?
I think the Leno Show is going to be popular at 10 p.m., and I predict Bruce will gain all kinds of new supporters from the appearance.
My only question is: who is going to do the “cosmic kiddo rap” from “Space is the Place,” since Bruce’s sons’ voices have obviously changed since they first recorded it at age 11, I believe?

I was back in Wisconsin (or as Vic likes to refer to it: Minnesota) for the past 9 days so I was out of the loop. No squirrels or bbq crap back there. Just good ol’ meat and potatoes and piece and quiet fishing on a lake.

Caught Bruce on Leno Show tonight…
Fantastic version of “Space is the Place”. I did not realize that all da’ Noisemakers would be in attendance as well. Clapton was…..well, he was Clapton to the core. Loved the guitar!Looked in the audience for any obvious Bruceheads…if you were there, you hid quite well.

Less cosmic rapping and more Clapton guitar … I liked it! It was good to see the Noisemakers there as well. JT looked spiffy.
I thought they got a huge round of applause. When’s the next TV appearance?

The boys hit it hard on Leno last night! Will have to watch it again today to make sure I caught everything. I’m echoing Vic here, but I want to see Bruce on more TV shows! Kimmel usually lets bands do 2, sometimes 3 songs. That would be a good fit.

It’s funny … I think “Space” is about my 8th-favorite song on the record (though they did a great job with it on the TV show). But it’s a shame Bruce couldn’t play Black Rats, Prairie Dog, Cyclone or Continents on Leno.
Bruce mentioned in one of the (WaPost?) newspaper articles that the Leno appearance wouldn’t have happened without Clapton. 😥 I hope Bruce and the band can get some of the other songs out there in front of these large TV audiences!
I think Dana said Bruce is scheduled for Regis and another show or two. Anybody know the air dates???
