ParticipantEveryone,
Stop reading this and go get the new “Talk of the Town” podcast put in your ear. Includes two amazing tracks, one from Bruce and one cover from the series.
David Day and I got “shout-outs” from Si himself for our contributions. David, can you put the tally on the scoreboard, please?
Men 2, Women 0.
Scoreboard!! 😮

ParticipantNot so fast,molo3!
I have a feeling the women will catch up on the scoreboard during the next podcast.
You’re right about the 2nd podcast,it’s excellent. And the “shout-outs” are well deserved.
Thanks,Si for brnging this great idea to life.

Help me, Molo Kenobi. You’re my only hope!!

ParticipantMVF,
I have heard your cry for help and have come to rescue you.
Just click on the link Si provided and click the play button where it says “Listen Now” and the podcast should play over your speakers. It’s really just that easy! 😯
Treah,
The bar has been set high on this one. Let’s see how much the women on this site can contribute to the podcasts! All in the spirit of competition and creating another amazing podcast for us all to enjoy.
I can’t wait until episode three! It’s going to be a classic!

ParticipantMegan,
please forgive us for overlooking your beautiful, inspiring contribution to the podcast. Was this oversight due to spring fever or the sugar high from enjoying too much Easter candy? No,it was because we were wrapped up in our own silliness….We promise,it won’t happen again!

Megan,
Your contribution to the latest ‘cast was amazing. I didn’t mean to downplay it or overlook it.
My comments were directed more to the women on the board here who are always on us guys for various reasons. As I said earlier, it’s all in the spirit of friendly competition.
Hopefully we’ll get to hear more from you in later ‘casts.

KeymasterThis week’s podcast with Bruce has been postponed for a short while due to technical issues… he and I have both gone down with a rotten cold!
Stay tuned for something shortly, though, and Bruce will join us soon.

ParticipantOh no! 😯 Poor Si! Poor Bruce! Get well soon, guys. We’ll be here when you get back to full stength!

ParticipantSi,
You cracked me up with your description of David Day
Yeeeeeeeeeeeah… he’s a shy one.
However… there ARE avenues available that might accomplish his goal of getting everyone together for a live Q&A type of thing. There are many internet sites that function as virtual meeting facilities, gotomeeting.com, etc. that allow for both audio and video connection, as well as text chat and the ability to do mass presentations. It might be somewhat of an undertaking, but maybe something like that could be engineered as a sort of annual “Bruuuce.com Convention”. I’m still thinking it out, but it is an interesting idea.

KeymasterThanks all – we actually did sit down to do this today, and quickly realised that it wasn’t going to work out. Look out for another ‘cast soon, though.
As for the multiple users, Skype seems to be the software of choice for such things, at least for audio setups. I’ll have a look around also. Maybe we could get a some of us on a Skype/telephone conference.
April 10, 2010 at 7:25 pm #32002A.J.
ParticipantHey Si
Why not just keep it simple, using the same setup as your past “phone chats with Bruce?”
April 11, 2010 at 8:16 pm #32003Si Twining
KeymasterThat’s what I shall be doing, when we get around to talking, A.J.
The next episode is now up, and will show up on iTunes soon also. This week, I’ve thrown down a challenge to the Board, if you are all keen on this idea of a conference call. Over to you…!
April 11, 2010 at 11:41 pm #32004A.J.
Participant😳 Sorry bout that Si. I thought when you said you realized it wasn’t going to work, you were trying to spice things up technically and ran into obstacles.
Didnt’ realize you meant you were sick!
Feel better man!

KeymasterEpisode 4 is now up, with a very special guest…
April 14, 2010 at 12:01 pm #32006molomolomolo
ParticipantSi,
Very nice job with the latest rendering of Talk of the Town. I won’t include any spoilers as I’m sure most of the Boarders have yet to listen. I guess for me it’s one of the perks of waking before the roosters. 😆As you pointed out, there are “loads of things” to be discussed in the podcast. I’ll try to wait patiently for everyone to catch up, so that we can discuss it here.
May I request Rachel Griffin as a possible future guest? I’ve become smitten with her work since you pointed her out some time ago. If nothing else, maybe putting a track of hers on one of the shows would be quite a treat.
Keep up the great work as always. Say hi to Uncle J.V. for me!

ParticipantSi…
The latest podcast is just terrific. I was listening to it this morning in my car and when I pulled up to the gate at my friend’s neighborhood, the security guy said “WOW! You look happy!” Your conversation had me smiling ear to ear. Wonderful, wonderful job. Thanks to you and your guest (I won’t spoil it for the others) for giving me such a great start to my day.

KeymasterI didn’t meant to keep the guest a secret… it’s the wonderful J.V. Collier, Bruce’s bass player and, as we come to find out, much more besides.
A great guy there.

A great guy there.Nice job, Si. You get better every time! The interview with JV was a gas, especially where you chose to include the James Brown ringtone. Sweeeeeeeeeet, mon. I’m looking forward to working out some way to get the online roundtable chat going. I’m looking forward to meeting up with my friend and fellow creative genius, David Day, in such a forum. When you get together two cats who march to the beat of their own drummer, free-form jazz can be the only result.

Rich…..Being the “gek” that you are, check out WebEx. I think that would get the job done! Don’t know bout “set-up costs”, if any, but I know it’s a free download for users once you’re on. Plez shoot me a PM if any set-up costs are involved.
Bruce on computer, speakers and phone is easily accomplished!
Check it out and let me know!
I take your comment as an “upmost compliment”!Would luv to do dat!

Lake Lanier, GAI’ve taken a fair number of training classes and attended numerous meetings on WebEx. It seems like a good venue for a Bruceists Chat. I was actually considering having a meeting of my fantasy football league via WebEx. I’ll check it out and let you and Si know. I think Si had suggested Skype, but I’m not as familiar with that as I am with WebEx. When I find out more, I’ll let all know.

ParticipantHey Rich! On WebEx, Bruce does not need to be on video. Bruce can be on audio, on the phone and computer speakers. Si could be on video, if wanted or needed, with just a bruuuce.com logo, “Talk of the Town” poster, charts, song lists, or just watchin’ Si do whatever he chooses to do! 😆
In other words…..WebEx can be more “audio” than “video”. Bruce does not need to be on video, if he doesn’t want that. Si, can be on video as an “option”, doing whatever he wants 😆 and Bruce can just be on phone live and on speakers!
The Bruce Nation can call in and ask questions and you can actually see who is “on-line” on the “conference call”. If someone gets “outs of hand”, you can actually “mute”, that person.
I can’t think of anyone in this community who would get the utlimate “banning stick” and get “muted”! 😆
You get the picture! Just let me know!…..
Still havin’ a ball!
