I think the combination of Sonny and JV is one of the most underrated drum/bass rhythm duos out there right now. They compliment each other and the band so incredibly well. So much is added to the band from their intricate and detailed playing. From JV’s riffs, bass fills, and steady playing to the unique touch Sonny adds with his complex rhythms, dynamics, and detailed cymbal work. I don’t think they could ever get too much praise.

Much agreed. I took a friend to the 10/29/09 show in Indy last year (last minute — my son got sick and he took my wife’s ticket, and he had very little exposure to Bruce other than the radio stuff), and the first thing he said when the show was over, besides “that was awesome” was “you have to be incredibly good to be his drummer.”

The Noisemakers are an incredible band all the way around. Have been a fan since the first time I heard The Way It Is, but the band has been incredible since JV & Sonny began working together, and I really, really enjoy Doug Derryberry’s guitar, which just adds a ton of color to the sound.

I *love* watching JV & Sonny — they have an incredible amount of fun when they’re playing, and it shows.

It’s the case with everyone in the band, Doug, Bobby, JT included. But Sonny and JV are just out of this world.
