ParticipantLoved the interview. Thanks for posting the link-I’m now an “official” podcast subscriber!
Bruce mentioned that his solo shows sell more tickets than the band shows. This really astonished me. Does anyone have any theories as to why this is so?

I think that may be by accident as I have read some interesting and yet pathetic reviews on ticketmaster.com and livenation.com that many of those reviewers didn’t even know the show they were going to see was actually just Bruce and a piano and then bitched about it.
Maybe these people see the billing with The Noisemakers and they think its something else so they don’t attend.
It seems like any ‘solo’ show I have been to some ‘guy’ asks me if this is with a band or is it a solo.January 28, 2013 at 10:20 pm #33556SciGuy
ParticipantSOS to anyone (-:
Is it true or can I not read?? Bruce is in Australia? If so why not post the out of country gigs too?

ParticipantWelcome, SciGuy.
Not to be cheeky, but this is from the link —
“Creating an authentic Jackson Browne / Bruce Hornsby experience will be the wonderful line up of Bernie Segedin, Sam McNally, Angus Steventon, Peter Northcote, Mark Costa, Clare O’Meara and Johnnie Waller(MD).”
It’s not posted because it’s not a Bruce gig, it’s a cover band gig. Not to put too fine a point on it or anything…

He’s said this a couple of times and each time I just kinda let it pass as “Hmmmm, that’s interesting…” and then away it goes…
But NOW I DO wonder why. Is it just the case that the casual concert-goer is just SO into nostalgia and carbon-copyism that he/she gets flummoxed when he/she reads “…and the Noisemakers” instead of “…and The Range”? Ya know, like “Whut the hail? Who the HAIL are ‘The Noisemakers’? I wurnt the Range, gotdammit!” LOL
Or maybe the solo gigs’ corresponding venues are a bit smaller than than larger theaters/parks/arenas/hockey rinks? Are the fan combos leaning more towards people of “that type” who are into seeing solo shows, but not the full band experience and all that that entails? Dunno, but it IS interesting.
I like ’em both…
