This concert was a part of the four day Wide Open Bluegrass Festival. An estimated 140,000 people attended the festival, enjoying classic bluegrass from veterans such as Del McCoury as well as music from modern groups like the Kruger Brothers. The musical gathering also included music workshops, a bluegrass themed film festival and lots of spontaneous jam sessions.
Before Bruce and Ricky took the stage, the audience was treated to music by the Yonder Mountain String Band, the Travelin’ McCoury Band with Keller Williams and the Del McCoury Band with Lee Ann Womack. I really enjoyed Keller Williams’ versions of Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” and Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks.”

Setlist How Mountain Girls Can Love, Toy Heart, Bluegrass Breakdown,Darlin’ Corey, The Way It Is, Dreaded Spoon,Stubb,Blue Night (a Bill Monroe song),I Want To Be At The Meeting,20/20 Vision (tribute to Charlie Haden),Sheep Shell Corn, Sally Jo,??Instrumental??, White-Wheeled Limousine>Just One More>White- Wheeled Limousine, Uncle Pen, Superfreak

    Highlights:
*The Way It Is-nice back and forth playing by Ricky and Bruce
*Blue Night-included a cool bluesy section
*30/20 Vision- Mark Fain (KT) great bass solo. He also sang one verse. Cody Kilby (KT) sang another verse.
*Sheep Shell Corn-Bruce shades his eyes trying to see all the ladies clogging during the song
*White-Wheeled Limousine-fantastic interplay between the fiddle and the piano and later between the piano and the lead guitar.
