Bruce as a person revealed.

I saw Bruce Hornsby mentioned in a great documentary film called “The Film That Changed The World” in Wichita recently. The movie is about two artists, musicians, filmmakers, awesome, awesome, awesome, story of the power of films and music. In the documentary film, it tells the story about an artist, Billy Yeager. Billy was a songwriter before he became a filmmaker. Bruce Hornsby helped this musician try to get a record contract, I wasn’t sure how true the story was because I never heard of this type of thing happening and began wondering “why doesn’t this type of thing happen more often”? (Well known famous established artists… helping other talented not so well known artists?)

Why not?

I only knew about Bruce Hornsby from 1986 or so with the hits on the radio, but after seeing the film I did more research about Bruce became an instant fan and began ordering everyone of Bruces cd’s and watching his concerts on-line, pure genius how he pulls off different renditions, I know of NO other artist who does this, or takes the risk to try this, BUT, here is the thing that impresses me, and thats not easy… he manages to do it successfully everytime!

Bruce was helping the musician Billy Yeager back in 1992, but from what I remembered in the story was that he didn’t just help once, but throughout the years continued trying to help the artist which is very uncommon and unselfish, and makes you realize not only is he a great musician, but a great human being with character, very hard to find in todays or yesterdays artists for that matter.

I don’t know any other artists that would do this? If you know, let me know please, I think it may make a good story.

The documentary is a very profound film ( its what brought me here to begin with) and I am glad the directors added this story about Bruce Hornsby in the film or else nobody would have known.
