ParticipantAnother thread got going with a discussion of getting songs stuck in your head. I thought it was a topic worthy of its’ own thread, irrespective of whether or not any Bruce content happens.
Songs getting stuck in your head. It’s happened to all of us, and it’s probably happened at somewhat inopportune moments. Anyone care to share odd or embarrassing moments with stuck songs?
Here’s a starter: When I was in college, I had this nice little gig playing my electronic keyboard for weddings. The woman who lived in the apartment above me was some sort of “non-denominational” minister, and she stayed pretty busy doing weddings. I got the jobs through her. Very cool. One of these weddings was at this somewhat swank country club on the south side of Richmond. While I was sitting there watching the proceedings, I started thinking of a song that was on the charts at the time… Billy Idol’s “White Wedding.” Unfortunately, I forgot to turn the microphone off, so my mumbling “what a nice day for a… white wedding” wasn’t all that private.
There are more where that came from. How ’bout y’all?

KeymasterFor the longest time, I had a Simpsons alarm clock. That music used to wake me up every morning, and taunted me for the rest of the day.
It’s going to happen again today just because I thought about it.

ParticipantHere’s one for the road!
I’ll be gone a couple of weeks studying the effects of the sun, moon, & stars on the tide, beach, coral & fish of Antigua. So in honor of July 4th, here is another one that’s in my brain on a daily basis:
If these guys are the good ones
I don’t want to know the bad,
You wonder how it happened
They just picked it up from dad,
Faded ole glory
Hanging like a rag,
Defenders, Defenders of the flag……David Day

Well, so much for the Road Scholar thing. It looks like you’ve stepped up to that hallowed status of “You Lucky Dog You.” I’m sure it has someething to do with the whole 7/7/7 lucky day deal.

ParticipantDo I get penalized with negative kudos for starting posts that few, if any, people think is worth posting in?

KeymasterNo penalty, just a huge dent in your self-esteem 😉
I’ve switched off the kudos for a number of reasons… they may return if I can think of a better way to utilise them.
