For once I’m looking forward to going “them back-kuuntry roads.” Which is good, ’cause it’s the only way to get there from here…unless I wanna take the Pike. 😆

ParticipantT –
If you happen to see me at the venue tomorrow, please stop me and say hi. I really like meeting others from the board.
Anyone else going to the Egg? How about Bridgeport?

Will do. Will you be as you are in your acct. pic? Or if I see a whirling dervish a la the cover of “Here Come…” is that you, as rumor has it?
As for moi, I’ll be sitting in the lobby wearing a pink carnation, an ascot, and a smoking jacket while perusing a copy of Popular Mechanics…

ParticipantT –
Well….YOU will obviously be very easy to spot!
I look a lot like my picture…probably won’t be wearing a hat.
The whirling dervish on Here Come…is my darlin’ friend Elyce! However, I have a very hard time sitting still through a Bruce show and if we get invited to dance on the stage….I won’t miss the chance.
I’ll be looking for that pink carnation!

ParticipantSounds like you guys will have(had) a blast!
One day I will make it up there for an East Coast tour! Scary thought…..Isn’t it?
What about some pics, Kat?

ParticipantOK, guys and gals, I’m gonna need a bit more peer review for both content and order, but I’ll still step up to the plate with possible swings and misses…who woulda thunk that I’d have more trouble with my memory? 😆
Insert, rearrange, correct, delete where you must —
— Sad Moon
— Song F? C? (I sometimes have trouble naming the piano instrumentals 😳 )
— What The Hell
— ‘Song I Couldn’t Remember The Name Of!’ Shameful, I know!
— Down The Road
— Mirror On The Dulcimer
— I Truly Understand The Dulcimer
— Snoop Dogg Dulcimer Town
— Black Rats
— Continents
— Lost Soul
— Talk of The T>The Other One>Talk>Charlie, Woody>Talk
— Way It Is (again with the quasi-ska)
— Valley Road (‘regular’ with Coltrane)
— Low Country
— Jacob>Spell>Jacob
encore
— Across The RI think that that’s it, but I could be wrong!
Running time, again, 2 hours. Is that the norm for this tour? Limited sample size for me, I know — Albany and Boston — but I’m just curious.
Highlights? “Talk of the Town,” fer shur. I believe that it was “The Other One” in there, but I must’ve mentally checked out for a minute during the tune….regardless, I hadn’t seen that one done live yet, so yeehaw! “Continents” was great, and my first “Soul” also. I would’ve felt special for us all in Albany re. the dulcimered “Mirror” but alas, I see that Port’s Mouth got it first. Still, a rib-tickler to see a semi-proggy pop tune done on such a quintessential instrument of Americana…phew. 🙄
Liz, I think that I was in the elevator with you, but by the time I figured it out (“Hmmmm, is it her? Is it not her? Boy will I be embarrassed if it isn’t” etc etc), you were gone like a gossamer breeze!
K, I looked for you but didn’t see any whirling, spinning, forces of nature (except for this one doofus near my seat during “Valley” 😯 )…so ladies, maybe next time. I shirked my normal carnation for an all-black ensemble — black shirt, black shorts, black pull-over windbreaker — because that’s how I feel on the inside…T

ParticipantT – So sorry we missed each other.
Great job hitting the highlights of the show.
Here’s what I can add…
It was Song C. What a relief to hear that I’m not the only one who can’t keep the ABC’s straight. I had to pull it up on my ipod to reassure myself I knew which one it was.Your “unnamed” song…LINE IN THE DUST.
(I requested it coincidentally!)We might not have gotten the first Mirror on dulcimer, but I think we got the first I Truly Understand he’s performed on it.
Talk of the Town>Charly, Woody and You was THE highlight. WOW!!!
I think it’s worth mentioning that about half way through, Bruce asked if anyone was bothered by the fact that he had not yet played one of the hits and the audience rippled with a laugh that said, “We’re cool with that!” I’m so blow away by the fact that once he goes into The Way it Is, he can make it “new” and I’m still thrilled to hear it.
I had a good angle for pictures. Dave, I’ll post some asap.
In Bridgeport tonight!!

ParticipantSorry, Kat: Bruce played “Truly” on dulcimer for the etown radio show taping in Boulder last month!
It’s also a dulcimer/piano duo on the iTunes bonus track…
But I AM really jealous of those of you who’ve heard “Mirror on the Dulcimer,” as T put it! That would make a GREAT dose, Mr. Twining! I’ve been trying to hear Mirror live in one format or another forever.
By the way, there’s a date set for the airing of that etown show: the week of Oct 14-Oct 20. Check etown.org for a radio station near you, or visit etown.org/listen.podcast.php to subscribe to the podcast!

ParticipantHey Vic.
Thanks for setting me straight!
I’m sure that Mirror on the Wall (on dulcimer) will soon surface. He did it again last night in Bridgeport…leading in with Dark Star (shout out request).
There were tapers at in both Albany and Bridgeport. Hopefully we’ll see the shows available soon.

ParticipantWell I have to chime in to gloat–Mirror on the dulcimer was one of my requests for Portsmouth…and he keeps on playing it, so I’ve now heard him do it three times on the dulcimer, with the best being Albany. Bruce did tell me it’s really challenging for him, trying to remember the words and play it on the dulcimer, so I am mega-impressed that he keeps doing it! He doesn’t usually play it that much, but it is the second time he’s played it at the Portsmouth Music Hall per my request. Color me special!

ParticipantHi!
I couldn’t make it to THE EGG show because we have a newborn son and were not willing to travel that far without him yet. Does anyone know where this show can be downloaded from? It looks like a fantastic show with some of my favorite songs! I NEEEEEEEEEEEED to have it!!!
Thanks for any help!
