ParticipantFor all you sitting on the edge of your seat for info about the concert last night in VA BEACH- SIMPLY INCREDIBLE, Bruce was at his best yet again! A very intimate setting and of course all for a great cause -the ALS Association DC/MD/VA Chapter and in memory of Melissa Regan Smith! Melissa’s sister made a brief introduction and mentioned many great things about Melissa and how the love and support of many family and friends- including Bruce and Kathy Hornsby were indeed so appreciated and how it indeed helped Melissa with her battle with ALS! She also said that these folks had been in Melissa’s corner for the past several years, and now Bruce is helping to step out of that corner to uncover the veil and bring more attention to this debilitating disease! Bruce opened up with China Doll and pretty much ran the gamut of quite an array of incredible songs! A lot of new material was introduced last night in promotion of the upcoming musical SCKBSTD which opens up in Norfolk, VA in January- most notably a great song entitled “Who takes care of Mom” and a hilarious song (not sure of the title yet) but something about a wife who envisions taking a baseball bat to her husband! A set list will be coming, but just wanted to give you a little info about the show! Other songs played- Harbor Lights, Spider Fingers, Mandolin Rain, Paperboy, Invisible, Fortunate Son-Comfortably Numb, End of the Innocence, Talk of the Town, Sticks and Stones, and Nobody There But Me! Bruce was on top of his game and the crowd was pretty amazed at his one man show, because most it appeared had never been to any of his concerts or did really know what to expect! Overall an incredible night, great songs selections, Bruce although not touring this year is in great form and continues to get better with age!
Stay tuned for more and Bruce did inform the crown about Bride of the Noisemakers out in 2011 with a album cover that is sure to delight- let’s just say JT in drag and JV at the alter!!!

ParticipantGreat review Aaron. It was a memorable and meaningful night of spectacular music. Even those of us who “know what to expect”, got a great surprise with not one but TWO new songs written for SCKBSTD. As always, the whole show was a musical journey. Bruce was in top form and the only thing I can add to your comments is that the performance seemed to be over WAY to soon. Bruce knows how to leave us looking forward to the next time.
It was great meeting you.

ParticipantThanks, Aaron! This benefit concert is the sort of selflessness that is all too rare today, but something we’ve come to expect of — and appreciate from — Bruce and his family.
JT in wedding dress with JV on his arm will be priceless! JT will make a LOVELY bride! I wonder if he wore white?!?!?! ;p
