ParticipantIf we could pool together 25-50 true Bruce fans, we could book a private show! Think about it. We spend so much money traveling around to see Bruce, why not use some of that to book a private show? I would be willing to pay my share. Is anyone else interested?

KeymasterSure, if you all agree to come to the UK this time!
(Or does that defeat the object?) 😆

This is a great idea, as we have spent lots of money seeing shows, traveling, and such. Would be willing to do this, but how would Bruce & the band feel about this?

ParticipantI bet we’d all end up just sittin’ around shootin’ the breeze the whole time!

ParticipantWas involved in an organization that brought Bruce last fall. Although not specifically on the committee, I believe they mentioned about $26,000 for the show.
Does not include venue and dinner after the show.

ParticipantPrivate Show!
Todd, you are probably pretty close to what it would take to book a private show. I use to book shows for the University of Georgia. Had a pretty large budget. The “contract” which includes things like catering, piano tuner, venue, security and “extras” would probably bring it to $40K to $50k.
Like I said before, I would pay my part. It would be one of those “once in a lifetime” things that you would remember forever. It would be worth every penny! Think about it, a private show with Bruce playing all your requests in an intimate atmosphere.

Now what are we going to do since the tour is over? I’m serious about a “true fan” show. We can do it! It would only take a few of us to do it!

I’m definitely interested, and could see putting some money into it, but exactly how much would also depend on where the show was and how much I’d have to spend on travel etc.
I also think if it does happen, Si should get a free ride in exchange for all the work he’s put into the site over the years. Miguel and Tom Doub too if anyone knows where they are these days.

ParticipantHow about making it a charity event? Si could have a quiet word with Bruce and ask him if he’ll waive his fee in return for us all donating to a charity of his choice. Then, we’d just need to hire a venue with good acoustics that can seat a couple of hundred people and wheel in a grand piano! Piece of cake. 😆

I don’t mind if Bruce makes some money on this. If Bruce wants to give it to charity, that’s his option. It really wouldn’t take that many “true fans”.
Like I said before, I would be willing to pay my share and probably more.Since the summer tour is over, I’m going to post this subject under General Chat.

ParticipantI’m still serious about this! Any of you having Bruce withdrawals?
In fact, I would be willing to pay more than my share. I need 49 other people who would be willing to make this happen. Let me know!David Day

ParticipantI wanted to give everyone an update. I have several true Bruce fans who have stepped up the the plate to the tune of 25K! 😆 😆
We can do it! Please keep those e-mails coming! It would be nice to have one more patron at 10K, 2 at 5k, 10 at 1K, 10 at 500 and 20 & 250.
Si and I have traded several e-mails and I will tell you the same that I’ve told him. You 250 patrons would receive the same amount of tics as the 10K patrons. Call it “spread the wealth” if you would.
To answer some of your questions: The show would be held where it would be convenient for Bruce to help keep cost down and to fit his schedule. The Noisemakers hopefully should be included depending on cost and number of patrons. Si would receive the same amount of tics as patrons for all he does for us.
I’m serious! It can happen! 😆 😆 😆
Merry Christmas to all and on earth peace and good will!

Hi Dave
When you say you have some fans who will go to 25k does that include myself,as I have already indicated that I would love to come but I must admit I could not go much more than the minimum entry levelDecember 20, 2005 at 4:55 pm #26286David Day
ParticipantPrivate show
Of course it includes me. So far, there is only one patron higher than me. I do practice what I preach and willing to do more to make it happen if needed. I feel it would be neat to have a show with nothing but “true fans” in an intimate venue. I’ve been following Bruce since the late 80’s and this would be an excellent “grand finale” for me. But, as I said before, I’m not going to do it all by myself. It would not be complete unless the “Bruce Nation” was there!
Merry Christmas and please let there peace on earth ❗

I’m sorry but I realized I answered Munnamunshi’s post incorrectly. I was in between appointments today and was too hasty in my response. Munnamunshi please forgive me. I thought you were questioning my accountability which does bring up another question that needs to be answered.
First of all, anyone that wants to be a patron needs to e-mail me their commitment. My e-mail address is [url]mailto:dpday@aol.com. I need your e-mail address and will not share it with anyone (I promise) if you promise not to share mine with anyone.
When it is time to cut a check, it will be made to SunTrust Bank, Atlanta, GA, not to me, and held in trust. I will provide more details when we have enough patrons. An attorney, not me, will be responsible for disbursing funds.
Munnamunshi, again please forgive me for answering your post incorrectely. Please send me an e-mail and I’d be more than happy to add you to the “Bruce Nation” of patrons for a private show!
Merry Christmas to all and may the New Year bring you peace & happiness!

ParticipantAnyone interested in a private show update
I wanted to give an update to all who are donors. We’ve reached a plateau of $30K US. We need more before we can move forward. If you want this to happen, and it can, please send me an e-mail to mailto:dpday@aol.com.
I want to keep it if possible to 250-500 people. That includes donors & guests. I know that there is a large donor who wants this as much as me and you. Please e-mail me. Would anyone be a large donor if I could find someone who would match your contribution?
It can happen!

ParticipantWhoa–okay this is pretty cool–
Any ideas yet where this would take place?March 3, 2006 at 1:49 am #26291David Day
ParticipantHi Erin!
Thanks for your post!
To answer your question it would happen at a place and time that would be convienent to Bruce. Probably someplace in an area where he has the band and equipement. I know from booking concerts for several years at University of Georgia, you get the best deal when the band is in the general vacinity. I and most of the donors would like to keep it small and inimate. I hope you want to be a part of the Bruce Nation!
