I believe they are all within about a .5 mile from The Orange Peel, which to me, is walking distance. Parking is at a premium in that area, especially on a weekend night, but near Tupelo Honey is a parking garage that may be the best option.
I got an idea!:idea: Why not do two micobrews? We must consider food, and the food is good at Barleys’. We can meet and eat at Barley’s and then go to Wicked Weed on the way to OP!

Absolutely!!! That way you can park early, not have to drive and come to two meet-ups! Casually walk around, come and go as as you please, visit some microbrews before OP! The food at Barley’s is very good! Eat, drink, be merry and not have to drive before the show! All within walking distance of OP!
Don’t touch that dial! Will post meet-up websites, with directions and parking. Maybe three meet-ups are in order for this? Sorry I didn’t get a chance to join you guys for any of the pre-show festivities. The drive took a bit longer than expected due to heavy rain… we had dinner and drinks at the Wicked Weed (I highly recommend the Udderly Milkstout) and walked in about 15 minutes before the show started. It was a great show, and I particularly enjoyed I’ll Take You There. It’s fun to be surprised by something totally new! I don’t think the Orange Peel was particularly good acoustically, at least for this type of show. I don’t know if something could have been done differently at the board, but sometimes it was like listening to Bruce over a really loud speaker blaring in a grocery store… A friend of mine said that the OP isn’t really set up for a concert like Bruce… more metal and more “make their ears bleed” types of shows. I hope the Biltmo’ can get over their hippiephobia, or perhaps another venue surfaces. What’s the story on Biltmore? Bruce made one comment about it, and my wife got some back story at the bar… I thought the crowd in 08 was well behaved. Not sure how the last show there went.
We had a nice time in Asheville… stayed downtown and did a little walking this morning before we left. Met a fun group of guys that incorporated the show into a bachelor party trip… all in all a great time.

Sorry we missed! The sound was not that bad in front, but sorta echoed in the back. Based on Bruce’s ‘dig’ of Biltmore, doesn’t seem like he will play there again.

I can’t help but wonder…..Any connection between this and OP?……I TOLD you why I had to pass. Believe me, I would NOT have been pleasant company AT ALL. If there had been any way to drag my carcass to Asheville, I would have. Looking at the set list, it seems Bruce simply waited a week before playing ALL of my requests. Oh well, better late than never. At least I notified SOMEONE ahead of the fact, instead of simply NOT showing up in Norfolk at Harborfest, hmmmm?
