Time to “check in” on this one too! :D

Not much news on tics at this writing, but stay tuned…..

In the mean time…..Here’s a little information for your information…..

It’s a great venue! 8-) Outside of course, beautiful, but a very small venue! They only have 2 to 3 shows per year, so not known for a concert venue. No seating per sa, so bring a lawn chair or a blanket. No coolers are allowed and there is no parking. The Botanical Gardens encourages patrons to park at Colony Square, about 1/2 mile away, and take a “designated shuttle” to the gardens.

On the other hand…..I know of a great meet-up spot walking distance. 8-) You will like it! :D

    Stay tuned. More to come!

Don’t want to give you “too much information” or you might get “information overload”! 😆

I just got this little tidbit of info for the Atlanta show. I’m just copying the email I rec’d from the gardens. I think she meant Friday, April 24th, and not the 25th. Hopefully the members don’t buy all the tickets out before they go to the general public. I know here in Denver that’s the case, where all the shows are usually sold out to the members before they come available to the public. Let’s hope not. :)

    SMP at your service. 🙄

    Here ya go…..

Our Concerts in the Garden summer series will be announced on our website Friday, April 25th Tickets go on sale to our members first, then to the public. The members get a two week advanced window. Then the tickets will go on sale to the public through Ticketmaster.

No, my dupa is flying into Atlanta on that Thurs so I’ll miss the Memphis show. Bruce didn’t check with me first as far as my schedule goes. I thought I trained him right but obviously he missed a few sessions. ;)

Thanks dear for having me covered!! Woohoo!! Can’t wait!! The faith has been restored. :D

Will I see any of your happy faces in Memphis? I’ve decided to go to this one..Bruce and the Noisemakers was just getting way to tempting…and at least this isn’t too too far from the state of Texas.

Tickets go on sale to the public next Tuesday, May 5th thru ticketmaster! From my understanding, there will only be 1800 tics for sale and all tickets are general admission.

If you need a tic, I have one spare tic already in hand as of today for someone in need. Not looking to make a profit, but if you want a tic, please e-mail me ASAP.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, May 12, at 10:00 AM ET, not May 5, as I originally posted thru ticketmaster. Don’t know how many are left after member purchases, but still have one extra if someone needs one.

    Just let me know! :D

    It’s time for check-in! :D

We’ll have the meet-up at Park Tavern at 4:30 which overlooks the park! 8-) You will like it! It’s a neat place! Their food and drink are great and the atmosphere is excellent for a meet-up! Their web site is http://www.parktavern.com.

I already know of at least nine that are coming. The infamous SMP (Stacked Mary Possum) and her friend will be there! 8-) Hopefully, Tango King and his wife will be there which will add to the “motley crew”. And, it will be a most excellent evening! You are welcome! Please stop bye! :D

If you need a tic, please e-mail me at dpday@aol.com.

If you are coming, please sign it! :D

Exactly! I’ll either be looking for a woman either wearing (only?) bells and whistles or completely covered in flames from the excitement of the Atlanta show! Can anyone fill us in on the policy at Biltmo’ on cameras/camcorders? We’re not so much interested in taping Bruce’s show as we are just documenting our weekend at Biltmo’. A long trip back to the car may be in order before the show, but it would be cool to know ahead of time.

Here are the “general rules” as far as lawn chairs, food, drink, cameras, etc.

It’s a beautiful venue! Get fired up!

Got an e-mail from someone very special to this board and will be at the meet-up! Tango King you coming?

    David Day
    Lake Lanier, GA

    General Rules:
Seating is General Admission on the Great Lawn and surrounding areas. Ticketholders are welcome to bring blankets or low-riding chairs. Any patron sitting in a chair with legs that are taller than a basketball, or with a seat-back that is higher than shoulder-blade height, will be asked to move to the side of the lawn so as to not obstruct anyone’s view. This is for the convenience of all visitors.
Outside food, beverage and coolers may NOT be brought into the Garden. Complete dinners (appetizers, salads, entrees, sandwiches and desserts) are available for pre-order on the Atlanta Botanical Garden website, and a limited menu will also be available during the show. Pre-orders are strongly suggested for best selection and shortest wait time.
Beer, wine, soft drinks and bottled water will be available for purchase on-site. Please do NOT bring beverage containers of any sort with you to the concert.
All shows are rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather. There will be no refunds in case of inclement weather.
Children aged two or younger receive free admission. All others require a ticket. Please use your best judgment when bringing a child to a concert; sound levels may be damaging to tiny ears.

Due to the sensitive nature of the Garden’s grounds and plant beds, smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Garden’s buildings or grounds. Pets (with the exception of service animals for the blind) are not allowed on the property at any time.
At the request of the artists, there is no photography allowed during any SunTrust Concerts in the Garden. Please leave your camera at home. The Garden will not be responsible for any stored or confiscated photo equipment.

Gonna try and make it by for at least a drink or three. I’m so amped!! I got a little nervous with the Memphis cancellation yesterday. Sucks that it got scrapped, but I’m very glad it wasn’t something more serious.

    I CAN’T WAIT!!

    Mary,

I”d take Bruce over BBQ too! Though that Lexington,NC, style BBQ is pretty good… 😆

Sounds like the Atlanta show will be a blast. Have a great time!

It’s time! After savering on this one a couple weeks, it’s time to post a review.

It was a great show! The Botanical Gardens was a beautiful venue! There was one problem though…..There was a “water moat” in front of the stage that had some incredible water lillies growing in it. The crowd mainly sat on blankets behind the moat, so therefore, there was no real place to stand or dance.

The crowd was the best crowd I’ve ever seen for a show in ATL! Most of the time Bruce plays at Chastain Park where the “artsie fartsie” crowd have tables with their catered meals, wine, and candles going. They are there for more of a social event than a show. At the Botanical Gardens, the crowd was more into Bruce than a social event. This was the first show in ATL that I’ve seen that the crowd really loved Bruce!

Even though there was a moat in front of the stage, Wayne Pooley worked his bu## off, making sure reguest got to Bruce. You could take request to the side of the stage and Wayne made sure Bruce would get them. You could not really tell that this was the first show in a while for the Noisemakers even though there was some talk about being “rusty” and not having it all together. They were really “tight” and the song selection flowed very well knowing what Bruce played in ATL, he would not play at Biltmo.

Before the show, JT came out and was able to talk to him for a while. Says he’s been doing some gigs with Rita Cooledge and staying busy. Bobby came out and told JT is was “time” and had a chance to say hi to Bobby. White Wheeled Limo was a great start that got the crowd cranked!

Normally, when Bruce comes to ATL, it’s a “Bruce Lite” show with Biltmo being a “Bruce Heavy” show. This was the first time in ATL, with the exception of the infamous “solo” show where the Noisemakers showed, that to my surprise and pleasure, it was not “Bruce Lite” at all! I think that once Bruce saw that this was a different crowd than Chastain Park, he really fed to the crowd and gave a great show!

It was great to be “amongst and btween” Carey and SMP! We had a hot house ball! It’s always nice to be around true fans and tell “road warrior” stories!

The question remains…..Which was better ATL or Biltmo?

    The answer…..Both! :D

That’s my story and I’m stickin to it! 😆
