    Just sat down with Bruce for an hour or so this evening on the ‘phone, talking about anything and everything, including:

    * the musical
    * Red Hook Summer
    * other current projects and new songs he’s working on
    * solo shows versus band shows
    * modern classical music
    * “winging it”
    * how the original records compare with today
    * his sons’ influence on his music, and their take on those songs today
    * his taping policy and his own back catalog of his shows
    * potential supergroup collaborations
    * his typical schedule in a day
    * and a lot more

    I thought this was far and away the best sit-down chat that Bruce has done for the site. I just want to sit down with the audio recording to tidy it up a bit, but we should have it online either on Friday or Saturday.

    In the meantime, here are two sit-downs which we had in the past:

    SI,

    The interview seems to be cut in half. It’s only 25 minutes. Will there be a part 2?

    Thanks for putting this up. It’s sad that Bruce feels defeated with the live recordings. I download and buy as many as possible. The amount of time and effort spent is not wasted. There are plenty of us that enjoy those recordings and are very grateful. If he released the whole tour of shows as live downloads, I’d happily buy them all.

    Hopefully this summer tour add more fans!

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Great interview, but definitely a bit disappointing to hear about the lack of interest in the live releases. I’d be like a kid in a candy store if Bruce released all of his live stuff.

    Also, when Bruce referenced Lost Soul with his son towards the end, what’s the Sony released recording he was talking about?

    Ok…seriously I work all day yesterday, get home too tired to download and go to do it this morning, can’t get on the site?

    Si, when can I download?

    Want to be with the in crowd and hear the interview. Can’t help wanting to hear the lastest Bruce news from Bruce himself!

    :D

    I took that to mean that his son liked the version on the Intersections boxed set better than the version that had been released as a single.

    JF1,

    If I’m not mistaken,I think Bruce might have been referring to this CD:

    Yes, treah is correct, and I was wrong. (Intersections was RCA.)

    Thanks Si! Very nice interview and …..What a great “thread” (so far)! Thank you for doing that! :D

    On the other hand…..I think you will will find that treah (Jackie), will always be “correct”! Always lend a “listening ear” to her, like you did, if you would! 8-) I think that you will find a “word of wisdom” always there that nobody else can give you! 8-)

    Besides……Her peach cobbler is always the very bestest ever! :D

    Still havin’ a ball! :D

    😳 Thanks for the kind words,David. Just trying to help a Friend In Bruce out the way many have helped me over the years. :)

    As for the peach cobbler,you’ve only had the virtual version. One of these days, I’m gonna appear at a meet up with enough of the real dessert for everybody! :D

    Being the temperamental,praise-seeking person I am, 😆 I want to bring the peach cobbler to my FIBs (Friends In Bruce) in person. :D That way,I can be there to hear the accolades as they roll in. 😆

    I know this isn’t the official Harborfest thread,but I’ll post my wishes for everyone going to have safe travels & a wonderful time at the concert!

    Jackie
