Howdy, new to the board here, been a member of bruuuce.com for years though. Never had anything to post other than how jealous i have been of everybody else for getting to see my favorite musician, while i was stuck here in Ohio. Made plans a few times but life always got in the way. Well life has changed and dealt me a chance to see Bruce finally so i will be there. Hopefully i will be able to talk myself into leaving after the weekend is over.

ToddOK, so when I go to McFadden’s tonight to play poker, I’ll talk to the manager about reserving something for 15 people for Friday. If everyone shows up, that’s cool. If not, then we’ll just have to see you on Saturday!!!. My wife and I will be there anyhow, because we love listening to the guy who plays from 6:00 to 9:00. Warning: my wife is kinda shy with people she’s never met before, unlike her insanely gregarious spouse. Oh, well. It’s her cross to bear, and she’s put up with me for 24½ years, so I’m not going to change now!!!

I’ll be there early Saturday morning. Will wear my Bay Days shirt and my SIGNED ‘Miss Virginia Former’ hat.
Wow! I just checked the location of McFadden’s and see that it’s 3.5 miles from my hotel downtown. I’m not renting a car at the airport – so you can take me off the list of people joining up Friday night. I’ll walk down the road from the hotel, have a beer and toast y’all.
And then see everyone at the concerts on Sat!
Well, how about we just arrange to meet near the stage at 5:00 and all wear something “identifiable”. If that’s the case, I’ll be wearing a white hat with a red buffalo on the front that says “Bills” (also in red) underneath it.
I made a reservation at McFadden’s, just in case, for 10-15 seats, but I will go ahead an cancel it if I don’t hear otherwise by Thursday evening.

I don’t know how easy it is to rent a cell phone, but for $30, you could drop by Wal-Mart and pick up one of the Net10 prepaid cell phones, which would give you a phone and 300 minutes. Just a thought.

I also discovered that they have a cover charge after 9:00 pm to pay for the very loud dj, so maybe McFadden’s isn’t such a great idea. Maybe we could get together in the bar of the hotel down there (Crown Plaza)
I’ll check in tomorrow and see what’s been decided, as I’ll have sporadic net access between now and when I get into DC.
Happy to follow along with you guys; happier again to meet some of you on Friday if it’s possible. If not, then Saturday it is!

OK – I’ve been out for recognizance.
The wrist pass for City Hall Stage is for the entire day of shows = $3.00 for seats for all music tomorrow from 3:30 to whenever Bruce and buddies quit. What a bargain! The opening act tomorrow is Robbin Thompson – familiar to anyone?
Liz is the name of the woman in charge of sales for the big stage (though it’s pretty small) and she says she’ll be at the CH Stage by noon to sell tickets/wristbands. Maybe she’ll let us not only buy tickets early but also put shirts or jackets on the folding chairs lined up closely together – but also close to the stage.
I’m in the Crowne Plaza hotel – room 207. But they gave me a wrist band to allow me access to the elevator after 4:30 pm today & through the weekend. I assume they let me bring someone else up to my room for a bit…but I didn’t ask. Tonight it would be fine to meet down in this area, for this is close to the bars and food. But the CH Stage is a few long blocks N of the hotel, so it may be easier to meet tomorrow by the stage. I’ll be there early to get the band and a good seat to see the keyboard.
There are tons of booths selling a variety of food and a big beer truck along Queens Way plus a good number of actual restaurants, so if anyone who wants to meet up tonight, I’m certain we could eat and drink. Give a call if you want to meet – 978-726-6655

I got a text msg from Si stating that his train left DC an hour late. However, he is told that they will make up the time en route. Good ol Amtrak! Anyhow, he said his plan is to amble toward the Crowne Plaza in the 8:00/9:00 time frame. Likewise, I intend on doing a similar amble. I’ll stay in text contact with Si to know how things are going.
I hope you guys have a wonderful time. I’m really sad that I’m not going to make it, wound up with bronchitis again. As badly as I want to see Bruce and the guys and everyone here (especially Si since it’s been forever), it’s just going to be too much running around too soon. Least I’ve got Richmond and Atlantic City to look forward too. Have a blast and be safe.
