    Stream was phenomenal. Great quality!

However, the stream started for me at Country Doctor. I thought this was the first song they played, but I just saw someone posted Jack Straw on youtube from last night, which I didn’t see them play. I watched the whole show from start to finish. Could they have opened with Jack Straw, but the stream didn’t start till after?

I think Jack Straw must have been a second encore. The accordion is exactly where Bruce left it after Rainbow’s Cadillac (it was on the right side of the stage in at the start of the show). I assume the Yahoo thing keeps a tight 2 hour schedule. Bruce made a comment about how they made him come out at 9 on the dot and the show seemed to end right before 11.

The production was really well done. I thought the dulcimer section was particularly great. It looks like the “Always watch Bruce” rule has been relaxed for the new guys. There were quite a few times when they were closing their eyes and doing spaced out jamming in their own worlds.

Was the first time I’d had the chance to hear the “new” band. It was definitely different, but met (and probably exceeded) my expectations. Gibb Droll isn’t Doug, but he’s very solid. The fiddle adds a folksy feel to the show. Solid start with Country Doctor & What A Time > Dreaded Spoon. My wife was pleased to hear the “traditional” Mandolin Rain, as she dislikes the minor key version (which I love, but we’re a happy couple anyway:) ). I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the show, but I’ve enjoyed every single Bruce show I’ve seen/heard.

I saw Rick Carlisle sit in with Bruce on Rainbow’s Cadillac at a show in Indy about a decade ago, but he looked (and sounded) much more comfortable and fit right in on this show – having some musical conversations with the band (and Gibb) and blistering his own solo.

Thanks for posting the Jack Straw E2, since Yahoo cut off the broadcast right after the first encore.

That’s funny, so they came back out after the first encore? Seemed like they were finished. Even after Bruce was making fun of the whole rituals thing. I bet they had to come off stage for the yahoo broadcast to end. And then came back out for one more.

Just out of curiosity, did anyone record this show off the stream? I was going to, but life intervened and I didn’t have the opportunity to go back and hook my WAV recorder into the stream. Although it was produced for TV, it’s as close to an SBD as we get these days.
