CBS Early Show to air live from Raleigh
It’s not often that a major network television program is broadcast live from Raleigh. But that’s exactly what will happen July 13, when CBS’ “The Early Show” will set up shop in the City of Oaks for its Summer in the City Tour.
The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau confirmed Friday that one CBS anchor, as well as weatherman Dave Price, will be on location to tout the Capital City.
Plans call for the live broadcast to be on Fayetteville Street between the Sheraton hotel and the Progress Energy building. Among the segments scheduled to be aired are a general story on Raleigh as well as a profile on a local chef by celebrity correspondent Bobby Flay.
Singers Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby are also scheduled perform a concert from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Part of Fayettevlle Street will be closed starting July 11 so workers can up the broadcast stage.
“The Early Show” is CBS’ morning talk show. It airs from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Oh, come on……. I KNOW all us Bruceheads can make a decent showing there. I’m only 70 miles and 50 minutes away (don’t do the math). And that early in the morning, you’ll beat the morning rush!!!!!

Friday, July 13 is less than a month away now. So who’s planning on being in Raleigh? We should do brunch after the Early Show!
I’m not going to be able to make it.
On the other hand, I’ll be studying the effects of the sun, stars & moon on the tide, beach, coral & fish of Antigua!
Someone has got to do it! 😆I will miss being there, but look forward seeing you all in Boone & Greensboro!

Lake Lanier, GASounds like fun! Only problem I’m in Texas and can’t afford a trip to Raleigh by that date! But I’ll make sure to watch for you all and will record it on my DirectTV DVR and if I ever figure out how to transfer from there to a DVD I’ll make copies for ya all. If anyone is more technical then me, let me know.

NOW you’ve just gone and ruined everything!!! I had this idea where we were all going to wear shirts printed with our song requests, so that when Bruce called for requests to be put on the stage, we could all just hop on up.
Oh well.
On the EXTREMELY bright side, it looks like it may just be me and Victor there…..together…….handling balls!!

Since I met Lola at the Lucky Strike bowling alley in Louisville last year, she has been my exclusively contracted ball handler.
You, however, are allowed to challenge our legal agreement through a tryout process in Raleigh!
David, I think you need to get your priorities straight, or I’ll have to take over as the official “decider” of what constitutes a true “Road Scholar!”

Alas, I’m afraid I’m going to have to postpone our meeting until another day. Real life has reared its ugly head, and I’m not going to be able to get off work in time to be in Raleigh, which is quite a drive from here.
I’m going to have to watch the CBS Morning Show on TV like everybody else. At least we’ll have Boone in a couple weeks.Vic,

I’m in the middle of changing schools (going to a Charter school to teach Kindergarten). AND I had minor exploratory surgery a week or so back, so I haven’t been online in a loooong time.
I taped the show at home. I was in the best possible place to watch Bruce, but apparently I was invisible to the cameras….despite the fact that I was wearing a bright blue tie dye dress and my MVF hat. By the way, Si. I have bruuuce.com printed on the back of the hat. Just tryin’ to do my part for the site!!!!! 😆
