ParticipantWell hey, we gotta know about it first, know what I’m sayin’? 😆
I mean, it’s not like anyone on this board has a fully operative set of Hornsby-detecting antennae, right?
If I may assume…

ParticipantWOW!
This just goes to show that…..”Slow Jam” needs to “check in” more often!
Where is the “Beacon”? Can you imagine Bruce doing Jessica? That’s got some great piano in it!

ParticipantWhere is the “Beacon”?
“The Beacon Theater” is in “The City.” Know what I mean? 😆
If you ain’t lived in the tri-state (CT,NJ, NY) or even some more metro parts of New England, you really don’t know, huh? (I’m laughing with ya, not at ya.)
I wouldn’t have referred to NYC as “The City” if I didn’t have a native Nu Yawkah as a better half…

ParticipantHuh,
When I read that Bruce was at the “Beacon”, this was the first place that I thought of.
But I guess that those of you who aren’t from Upstate South Carolina wouldn’t know what that is but it is a pretty famous place ’round here. I love their Chili Cheeseburger A-Plenty. CALL IT!!!

ParticipantLike I have said before…..You can always count on Larry to give you the “real scoop”!
And here all along…..I thought they were talkin bout the real Beacon in one of my favorite spots! 😳 You know what I’m talkin bout!
You must forgive them! They just don’t know about the real Beacon! 😆
You also know what I’m talkin bout when I say Bruce would be great playing “Jessica”. Now don’t you?

ParticipantJust a question, I clicked on the link in the first post above and after signing up for a YouTube account, they then said that the video was private. Do I have to join a special group to see it or was it removed sometime after the initial post? I should have clicked the link when I first saw it. Perhaps its a case of “if you snooze you lose”. If not, let me know.

ParticipantI’m listening to the show right now, quite fabulous. Thanks for sharing.
By the way, the original link for “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” still works, that one was not marked as private at this point. I never even thought of checking that one after I found out that “Southbound” was private.

ParticipantThe Beacon Theater in NYC is also where the Rolling Stones recorded their doc “Shine A Light”, directed by Martin Scorsese. Fantastic theater acoustically and very “intimate” setting (by NYC standards anyway) Every year as long as I can remember the Allmans have taken up residence at the Beacon, usually for up to a two week run. Most years they bring in a guest guitarist to sit in but this is the first I have heard of a guest pianist. When I saw them last year there they brought out Leslie West of Moutain, who IMO, is a very underrated guitarist.
