Si Twining
KeymasterHi folks
The more observant of you will have noticed that the front page of Bruuuce.com hasn’t been updated in a week. I wanted to give a quick explanation, and some notice of what’s likely to happen in the immediate future.
Some of you know that I am currently awaiting neck surgery. While I’m waiting, my radial nerves down both arms have been good enough to throw me into complete disarray 😆 and it makes typing very difficult.
I’m also on some pretty hefty painkillers that would probably make for a very interesting update if I’m on form, but probably better for the world that I give the computer a miss when I’m stoned on medication.
Anyway… I don’t have a timetable, but after my surgery, and due to the nature of it, I’m going to be incapacitated for some time, which is going to mean no updates for a good few months. I’m led to believe that it could happen within the next few weeks – which is where you guys come into play! It’s all going to make this forum the most used feature on the site, if it isn’t already, and certainly the most frequently updated.
I’ll keep you posted, but for now, please don’t expect too many large updates. I will get a new dose (that I know you’re all waiting for!) up on the front page today, I promise.
All good things,
– Si.

ParticipantSi,
I hope that your surgery goes well, and that you are soon on the mend. Fear not, we’ll keep the forum jumping with lively discussions and debate 😮 It’s the least we can do for you when you consider how much you do for us with this site. On the way home from work, I’ll think up a couple of controversial topics that will keep this place nice and perky. It should make for some entertaining reading while you recover. Most important, though…. get through the surgery and recovery. I’ll include you in my prayers.

ParticipantSi, you take good care of yourself. Don’t worry about the website. You have more important things to worry about. Between DD, the blabberer of blabberers and company, I’m sure the forum will still remain active.
Does that mean in your absence I can say anything about DD I want? 😉

ParticipantSi,
As others have said, don’t worry about the site. We all hope that all goes well with your surgery and that you recover quickly. Not for us, but for yourself. You have created and maintained this site and developed friendships with many “Hornsbyheads” through the years and we will completely understand when you have to leave the site un-updated for awhile. All of us forum users will keep the cobwebs at bay until you can return.
All the best,
Larry

ParticipantSi,
I’m sorry you are having more pain as you await surgery. May you receive the best care available and a speedy recovery. We’ll miss you and
we’ll be thinking about you. We will try to entertain ourselves in your
absence. Take care of yourself and see you back here soon!We understand if your “daily dose” must change from “musical” to “medicinal” for a while. 😉

ParticipantHowdy??
Si, Honey….
We send you much love and our very best wishes. We’d fluff your pillows and make you a nice cupa, if we were able. The forum has continued during your hiatus[aren’t you proud?!?] Alyssa has been BRILLIANT!!! Please, do some tiny thing for us… give us an update. We are most concerned about your health and well-being. Hopefully, the drugs help; they just make me maudlin…

ParticipantSi,
Will your recovery affect your attending shows this year?
It seems that you come at least once a year to get your Dose, Should we be asking Bruce to play in England to make it easier for you?

Thanks Charlie… updates are few and far between, and are pretty boring anyway… I am due an MRI and brain scan sometime soon (when my consultant returns from holiday, so they can’t be overly concerned!!!) 😆
