Was listening to NOTT the other day and remembered how much I liked the song. Then I began to think, Hmmm, I never really hear it being played at recent concerts or I guess no one requests it. Just throwing it out to see what you think

The last time I remember seeing him play it in concert was back when Hot House came out, and Debby Henry was still sitting in with him on background vocals…But you’re right..It’s been a bit since I’ve heard that tune live!
I would love to hear Carry The Water live. It’s one of my 3 favorite songs from that album. (Barren Ground and These Arms of Mine are the other two).
When I’m listening to that song and feeling really brave,I try singing along with the background vocals… 😆

Night on the Town
Other than Big Swing Face, Night on the Town is Bruce’s most underrated album in my opinion. Jackie mentions some good ones I’d like to hear live. I think it does hurt that Bruce doesn’t have a female backup singer at his disposal these days.
A lot of NOTT material is passed on in more recent live shows. I think Bruce said he wasn’t crazy about the chorus in “Across The River.” Not sure what his feelings are on “Carry The Water.” I like the tune as well, real R&B/soul/gospel feel. I think a live re-working with a good jam would be in order for sure.
