Well, summer’s creeping up on us, and summer tour dates are starting to come in, so…….
Has anyone heard ANYTHING about a Biltmo’ concert????? Oh, I know the official Biltmore Estate Concert schedule will be posted April 15, but I can’t wait!! Because of having been unemployed (but STILL looking!) for almost three years (getting laid off sucks), I can only really afford one concert a year. 😥 Of course, Biltmo’ has priority, BUT, if there just won’t be a concert there this summer, I gotta start making plans to be in Norfolk in June.
I figure a Biltmo’ date maybe around the time Keith goes back to school in August??
Oh, I hope so, oh, I hope so, oh, I hope so!!!!

That would be April 13, for the posting, not April 15. From what my “connections” say….No cigar this year, but you never know! They are still working on some dates and there is still hope! But, what I see of bruuuce’s schedule, it doesn’t seem to fit in the area where he has already booked for when Biltmore needs to book. Looks like Norfolk to me, but you never know! Miracles do happen!

MVFI will admit there is a big “gap” in Bruce’s schedule between June 23 and July19! I will hand that to you MVF as an “olive branch”! As hard as that may be to do! 😆
The Sales Mangager at Biltmore and I went to high school together. One of my best friends from grammar school and high school is on the Board at Chastain and the Botanical Gardens. Normally, Bruuuce would play both venues “back to back” due to the proximity. So….I have “fellers” out both places and trying to be “ahead of the curve”!
Don’t get me wrong! There is nothing in the world I would rather happen! Please believe me! I’m there puttin’ my vote in! And….Your vote is there too! Keep the fatih! But……

David DayI said “Biltmo” on Facebook last night, but sadly it was a request and not an announcement. Atlanta sounds like a neat venue too… but the mountains in July win out of Hotlanta any time in my book.
I’d love to go back this summer. My last (well, only real concert) was in 2009 and I need a fix!

Who’s going to Norfolk for Harborfest?????? The last time I attended Harborfest, I was driving one of those old-fashioned trolleys in the parade, carrying the Harborfest Queen’s “Court”, right behind the Shriners and their little cars. Why is it that we will travel great distances to visit an event, but never go to ones in our own town????Hey, in case you miss the MVF guided tour of downtown Norfolk, make sure you visit Waterside (big building w/ blue roof next to Harborfest, filled with shops & cool restaurants). Check out the Virginia Walk of Fame, and find Bruce’s “star”.
We better get busy. We only have about two months to plan THE event of the summer.

I checked out the bands that WILL be at the Biltmore this summer — Steve Miller, Peter Frampton, KC and the Sunshine Band, the Villiage People, Foreigner, David Cassidy, and several other bands. Geez, looks like a list of the records I had as a teenager. All that’s missing is The Osmonds, Bobby Sherman, the Cars, and Supertramp! In fact, I still have all my old 33 1/3 albums. Wonder if they would be worth anything on eBay? Of course, you’d have to find someone who still has a record player! (I do!) 😆MVF
(Sigh). I am so “bummed out” right now.
I’m going to check out Amtrak’s website this minute to see what the train fare to Norfolk might be… Thinking about Harborfest should cheer me up.

Just a heads-up…….l
Unless something has changed since I left Tidewater, Amtrak does not run to Norfolk. I think the closest it gets is Newport News. But ask Monica — I run a mean shuttle service! 😆

Amtrak has it covered. All I have to do is take the train from Greensboro to Richmond,another train from Richmond to Newport News,and finally a shuttle bus from Newport News to Norfolk. This would take a mere 11 hours.
But it would be worth it to get a Bruce & The Noisemakers fix!Thanks for the most generous offer of shuttle service. If the cards fall into place,I might just take you up on it.

Bruce has only played consecutive years at Biltmore once so it’s no surprise really. I’m sure he’ll be back next year.
Summer’s not the same without BH+NM at the Biltmo, but, The Show Goes On.
I can’t make Harborfest. Who knows where I’ll show up-but it will be somewhere.

East NC is always the way to go with BBQ! Vinegar base, but I like to add some spicy mustard to the blend as well! They actually do that at a local establishment not too far from you! It’s on the NC BBQ HYW! Check out the link!

Around here, “pups” are hush puppies. I’m trying to visualize these “tomato based” hush puppies western style on the grill…. and I’m totally lost on the “tits” reference….. 😮

I think the idea of a tailgate party is the best thing you have come up with in a while. I assume you are driving and will have a car (tailgate). I will actually be based at my parents’ house, so I will not only have a “tailgate”, but access to grocery stores, ABC stores, and cooking and refrigeration implements. Give me a day or two to scope out the lay of the land at Harborfest, and then we can plan from there.
Now all we need are people……
Am I to assume you will be bringing a date, or are you going this one stag??? Since my BFFs Monica and Jackie will not be in attendence, it will just be little ole’ me. 😥 I think I remember HDbann saying something about being there, but not sure. I’ve posted a “roll call” on the Harborfest concert post, so we will have to see who RSVPs. But if this event turns out to be just you and me sitting on a curb eating hot dogs and passing a bottle of ripple back and forth, it will still be a hoot. 😆 😆MVF
