I’ve never been a big fan of the bagpipe, but I can’t keep from thinking every time I hear “Black Rats of London” how cool it would be if, at a concert, all of a sudden you’d hear what would seem like surround sound, but what would be–you would soon realize–bagpipe players marching through the crowd from the back of the hall and toward the stage.

I have been listening to the album ever since it became available, and I have to say it is growing on me. Of course, the first time I heard WWL, I wasn’t enthused, but now it is my favorite song, bar none. But I notice that the Verve website only has 2 songs up anymore. What is up with that? I want to keep listening while I work my magic and try and convince my wife that we should make the 850 mile trip to Bay Days.

I noticed the playlist is down to 2 songs. It must be a new technique to sell records: give them all the goodies, then take them away just before the album is released! Works for me. I’m having withdrawal already!

Vic, I noticed you were shaking at the Boulder show but that could’ve been just from the nerves of sitting next to “The Mary.” 😆

Taking the full streaming playlist down is so not cool! Oh well,it seems all good things must end…

I’m also suffering from withdrawal;can anyone suggest a cure?

I bet David Day would be able to suggest something as he’s always full of…..suggestions. ya, that’s what I meant to say. 😈

Jackie, I hope all is well. You only have a few more weeks before the CD is released so hang tight.

So should the original post title be rechristened “Levitate — Now Only 1/6 Up at Verve!”?

Sorry, couldn’t resist. ;) And yes, it’s growing on me a bit more. Or at least, it was… 🙄

I feel some vindication for sure. It’s an interesting marketing strategy form Verve… kind of like an extended warranty brochure from Infiniti once said “a luxury once experienced becomes a necessity”

Either way September is going to be a good month. New Bruce, Gamecocks surprising the SEC east… not sure what kind of surprise… but I bet it’ll surprise someone!

Kinda like McCartney has been doing in one form or another whenever he plays in either Scotland or Eastern Canada with his 1977 tune, Mull of Kintyre? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtXDO3qMcwU I wish he would’ve done this at one of the shows that I’ve seen of his, but I guess Sir Paul reserves this one for Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Glasgow.

I’ve thought about learning the babgpipe, since you can get a starter set pretty cheap through Musician’s Friend. My fear is that I would be doing for all the wrong reasons, though. What wrong reasons would those be? Why, revenge, of course. One of my neighbors has a garage next to their house where they work on their race car all of the time. I’d limit my bagpipe practice times to Sundays mornings, just after they’ve been out late on Saturday at Langley Speedway!!!

Saw my chance, and I thought I’d take it.
Tried real hard, but I didnt make it.
    Now I find myself… eating the twenty-five!

It was probably my fault that Verve pulled all the Levitate album: I had listened to it about 30 times already. Sorry.

Listening to “Prairie Dog” over and over and over…has me thinking about how similar it is to “Listen to the Silence” on Spirit Trail. That would make for a nice pairing live, IMO. The song “Levitate” has been one of my favorites from the get-go, so I don’t mind that they left that up there.

I’m glad I was a renegade and “held out”! :D It’s growing on me! 8-) It’s “creative”! :D To grow, you gosta be stretched and it will “stretch” you a little! :D

On the other hand…..Isn’t that what we like about Bruce? Creativity in his studio music means great shows?

Can’t help but think that PDT is an “extension” of BSF. BSF grew on me on now it’s on my regular “rotation” because it’s very creative.

What do you think :?: Is PDT a “grown up” BSF :?:

Yep, PDT is one of my favorites…

It took a rubber rat attached to my request to get Bruce to play Black Rats of London at Biltmo’….

Where am I going to get a rubber prairie dog…..

Well now you tell me MVF….I just drove through SD coming back from Wisconsin and I could’ve looked in the stores for you. They probably had amples of them just waiting to get purchased. I had to laugh because I saw Prairie Dog billboards along the highway and thought of Bruce’s new song. You couldn’t go 5 miles without seeing one.

I think there are some stuffed toy prairie dogs on Amazon.com;wouldn;t one fit right in with your “Bruce tour” teddy bear(s)?

    http://www.amazon.com/Plush-Signature-P … 031&sr=8-7

But wait! Are prairie dogs and teddy bears compatible? A stuffed animal fight could be really messy… :D

    Here’s one for you MVF….

    http://cgi.ebay.com/PRAIRIE-DOG-TINY-ON … 999.c0.m14

Tons of prairie dog stuff at ebay. If I had a way to find some prairie dog scrapbooking stuff that would work, but I wasn’t lucky with that search.

So many animals required these days.. :)

Jackie, I looked online at the one you attached…..adorable!!! I think if a fight breaks out, we’ll just have JV settle it since he’s such an animal person. :P

Heard PDT on Sirus/XM this evening on the Spectrum Channel while watching the sunset. Mark Goodman, old MTV guy, gave it a good intro! Seems like Bruce is getting some “coverage” on this one! 8-)
