As previously sworn on these very pages, there will not be a Daily Dose Day this year.
There are a few reasons for that – it really does take a lot to update this site for a full 24 hours (which led to a six month sabbatical last time I tried it!)
However, I do have a contingency… still no Daily Dose Day, but you guys actually come out of it with a lot more music!
In the week commencing May 4, I shall be putting up one concert per day for download, over five days. What would have been Daily Dose Day V is now a week long event. That’ll be roughly twelve hours of Bruce, with a new concert each morning. I also hope to put them up in lossless format as torrents.
There is a charity flavour, for anyone who is interested:
In addition to the Daily Dose Week, I will be walking the streets of London for twelve hours, touring the landmarks with a giant fluffy pink testicle strapped to my waist. If only that were an April Fool joke…
Roughly sixty of us will be taking to the streets in similar attire to raise funds and awareness of male-specific cancer.
For both the Dose Week (I really need a better name than that) and the Testicle Tour (it gets no better than that), I have set up a page with further details. If any of you kind people would like to consider a contribution in return for the week of doses, or for walking around London with a vaguely obscene appendage, donations are already being accepted online at:

I’d also like you all to pick the concerts that we use that week… please visit the setlist pages on this site, choose some favourites, and e-mail them to me.
I’ll keep you all posted on how the day goes, and I’m sure there will be plenty of photos and videos to surface (we already have TV and press coverage sorted…)

The Dose Week sounds like it will be a good one (and much more sane than a continuous 24 hour day). You requested possible shows for that week and I would like to see the Woodinville show, August 24, 1998. I know there is a good recording out there, because I was sitting next to the guy who taped it, but I never got a hold of him to get a copy! The new site is really looking good and coming together with all the features. Thanks again for all that you do.

I was there .too. In fact, I joined a few others and danced on stage while he sang “Rainbow Cadillac”. What an awesome night !! My request was Bruce’s version of Rocky Top and he slid it right on out. I have seen him perform many times, but the Knoxville concert rocked.
I don’t have a copy of that show in TN, I’m afraid… I did tape it, but was sitting backstage at the time, so it sounds pretty horrible.

This is going to be some amazing week, Si! If I may, I’d like to put in a request for 05/11/99 Taft Theater – Cincinnati, OH. This was my first Bruuuce show and I’d really enjoy the trip down memory lane. Hard to believe it was 10 years ago! Thanks for your hard work on this, Si. If you can’t get that one posted up, I’ll understand. As a substitute (that Who song has been in my head all week!) I would gladly accept any show Bruuuce has done in my hometown, Louisville, KY. No pressure!

It seems we now have 2 MVFs on the board. Excuse me, but I naturally thought you were MVF #1 in disguise, but it appears you are MVF #2. Si does have a good “daily dose” of the show that is good quality. If I knew how to post it I would. Maybe Si could post “Tango King” of the show as it was a “daily dose” if he can find it. It was a great show!

I haven’t heard this entire show,but listening to selections Si has shared with us over the years,it sounds like a great one!
My favorite moment from the “doses” I have is Bruce’s banter/admonition to the audience member who wants the band to pick up the tempo during Sugaree. That exchange is pure Bruce-“up one side and down the other”-to borrow a phrase my grandmother often used!

Hi Si – I’d love to see the 12/31/99 show from William & Mary posted. That was such a fun night that should be shared with all. Thanks.
I’ll have to see if I can dig that Millennium Bash show out. I don’t think that a decent-sounding version of that show ever surfaced though, due to the party in the crowd, the party on the stage, and everybody being drunk!
I have been working solidly on some surprises for that week though. I sat down and wrote a list of things that I’d like to see on this website, and it soon got huge.
I’ll throw the same task out to you guys though, if you want to play along – aside from the concert downloads, if there’s anything that you’d like to see incorporated into the site rebuild, please let me know.

Just putting in my requests for Daily Dose Week. I know I emailed…but just hoping. I know you probably have a full schedule of fun things for us!
But if you can slip them in I’d be very happy!! They are two I had gone to while I lived in Michigan, and only have on cassettes that I can’t play anymore. Need them in mp3 form so I can play them again.
If you have them and can put them up some other time..that would be great to.
