I can’t help but share this story with you!

Last week I was in Cozumel, Mexico, studying the effects of the sun and moon on the tide, coral, fish and beach. Somebody has got to do it! I love to scuba dive! It is one of my favorite hobbies!

One morning very early, I was being a road scholar working on a ten miler running down the road and was in the middle of who knows where. When all of a sudden from behind me, I heard it!

Get the picture! Speakers blaring, woofers beating and a sound system that could blow the doors off a car. As the car approached, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! Big Swing Face!

As the car was passing bye, I gave a double thumbs ups and the driver pulled over. There we were. He couldn’t speak a bit of English and I couldn’t speak a bit of Spanish. He was obviously proud of his stereo system and wanted to show it to me. Through some hand signals I had him forward it to Take Out The Trash and a big grin came on his face. 😆

By the time it was all over, he now knows one word in English…..Bruuuce! :D

    It’s a small world

Nice story, David! (I bet China Doll wishes she’d known you were going to to be ‘studing’ in Mexico!) :P

EDIT: Hey, somebody changed “studing” to “studying” ❗ Totally ruins my joke! :?

Way to go, David! I can actually picture you down there, trying to talk “bruce” with a local , with all the hand signs and everything. Way too fun!!!

Cozumel is the best place for scuba and snorkeling, isn’t it David? You did a 10 miler in Cozumel? You must have run around that whole island twice or something. it’s really tiny.

Sorry, I just saw this. Don’t know how I missed it.

Cozumel use to be one of the top 10 dive destinations in the world, but that has changed. Hurricane Wilma really hurt the reef. It is very damaged. It’s sad! There are still plenty of fish, turtles & eels and the visablility is still great!

You can get in a 10 miler easy. It’s bigger than you think. If you start downtown and go south past the airport, you can get in 5 miles easy before turning around.

By the way, that’s a great looking avatar! It’s nice to put a name to a face!

You would not believe it! I got an e-mail from our Mexican Bruce fan brother! I jotted down my name and e-mail address and gave it to him not thinking anything would happen from it. But it did!

The problem is…..I can’t read it! It’s in Spanish! 😆 I can pick out “Bruce”, but that’s about it. 😆

I’ve printed it out and will get it to a Hispanic friend who is also a Spanish teacher. Once I make sure there are no profanities in it, I will let you know what he said and try to attach it.

    What a hoot! 😆

I’ll have it translated by tomorrow. I do want to make sure it’s proper to post. Don’t want “the banning stick” put on me! 😆

It was a false alarm. :( I was hoping it was that Bruce fan I met running that morning in Cozumel.

It turns out my e-mail in Spanish came from another quy I met who made hand wraped cigars. He e-mailed me to tell me he figured a way to ship me his cigars.

What threw me is that his name is Bruce. 😆

I still can’t help but think about that guy that morning. Both of us head banging to Take Out The Trash in the middle of the street and can’t say a word to each other but Bruuuuce! 😆
