On some German e-shops the following item can be found:
    http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B … 00-1060011
    http://www.dvd-galaxis.de/genre-detail- … st.of.html
What is it? Is is worth buying, or is it just a compilation of some material that was already released on some other DVDs?

Since it was cheap, I couldn’t resist and bought it.
Production of this DVD is really very poor.
In the introduction the DVD is presented by something called “Music from the Past”.
    The end credits are:
Additional Videopostproduction & DVD Authoring – Birdland Sound Audio -& Videoproduktion,
    Graphic Arts – Birdland Mediendesign
    © 2005, Valgenti Trade AG
    64 minutes
    And now about the tracks:
Three sources were used for this compilation:
    1. DVD “A Night on the Town” (1990)
    2. DVD “Bruce Hornsby & Friends” (2004)
    3. Austin City Limits (2000)
    See http://www.pbs.org/klru/austin/artists/program17.html
I know this source from Rick’s FTP server where it is a filler of “Bruce Hornsby & Bela Fleck Miller Auditorium” DVD. Now also on http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-deta … ?id=131266
01 Introduction – Samples of all songs
    02 Spider Fingers – source #2
03 Fire On The Cross – source #1
    04 Way It Is – source #3
    05 Talk To The Town.KG – source #2
    06 Barren Ground – source #1
    07 Rainbow’s Cadillac – source #3
08 Walk In The Sun – source #2
    09 Across The River – source #1
    10 Another Day – source #1
11 Stranded On Easy Street – source #1
12 Lost On 5th Avenue (Instrumental) – Royal Combination – not played or composed by Bruce, the music serves as background to picture show and end credits. All pictures that can be seen in the piture show are taken from various Internet sources.
The DVD also contains Bruce’s biography taken from Wikipedia.
The style of production is similar to the DVD compilation of Pat Metheny that I own, wich is also cheap and low-quality, see
    http://www.amazon.de/Pat-Metheny-As/dp/ … UTF8&s=dvd
In the case of Pat Metheny the producers at least provided the DVD with a leaflet containing the credits for all songs. This in not the case of this DVD. There is no information about the authorship and sources of material in it.
