ParticipantI have recently acquired a recording of a Bruce Hornsby and the Range show from around 1988. It is SO sweet! It’s a live recording that was originally distributed to radio stations. It has been so nostalgic to listen to the original crew (I have always been, and always will be in desperate love with John Molo), and compare just how far Bruce has come since “way back when, so long ago”. He doesn’t “wander” the keyboard as much as now, but the music is still so sweet. I MIGHT be talked into sharing, if the right people were to ask/beg/grovel/

ParticipantNo, it was recorded at The Ritz, NYC, and produced for the King Biscuit Flower Hour (think Austin City Limits) in 1987. 90% of the text on the CD cover and the accompanying booklet are in Japanese (anybody want to know how to sing “The Way It Is” in Japanese???). The tracks include: Every Little Kiss; The Long Race; The Way It Is (intro, 7:09); The Way It Is (song, 6:25); Mandolin Rain; The Red Plains; and On The Western Skyline. The only picture is on the cover, and features Bruce; my own personal heartthrob, John Molo; George Marinelli; Joe Puerta; and an African-American gentleman that I don’t recognize. It’s interesting to see Bruce and George with full heads of hair. Of course, my puppy love, Molo, has on his ubiquitous beret (has anyone EVER seen him without it?).
My offer still stands, that is, if I can figure out how to make copies!! In fact, I’d LOVE to hand deliver these CDs in person at the Biltmo’ Sho’. Still waiting to hear who will be sharing the experience of a lifetime with Monica, The Princess, and myself.

ParticipantWhile we’re on the subject on rarities, right now on eBay for auction are the Japanese releases of Levitate and Harbor Lights, which contain the bonus tracks “Too Much Monkey Business” (Chuck Berry cover) and “Solid Ground”, respectively. To the best of my knowledge, these tracks can’t be obtained anywhere else, so for the collector, here’s your chance.
The links to the auctions (not mine) are:

ParticipantI’ve got CDs of a couple of shows from that era. I think one was a radio broadcast from Philadelphia, and the other is a really good recording form Springfield, MA. This is from back when they were touring “one album and a Dead song.” I haven’t listened to them in a while. I’ll have to get the details and make sure that the CD-Rs haven’t deteriorated.
