ParticipantWhat a fantastic interview! It’s great when the interviewer is really into Bruce’s stuff and asks some great intelligent questions. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Matt is a regular visitor to our little board here.

The tunes were collected from the Summer ’07 jaunts to St. Louis and Apple Valley, MN I believe…

I talked to Bruce on Monday and put it up on Wednesday. Kind of a fast turnaround, but Bruce’s manager mentioned that of the interviews that Bruce had done that day, I was the first one that had heard the live album, so I felt compelled to fast track it a bit since there was the live album chatter, plus I thought there was some good stuff that I hadn’t seen in other interviews that people would enjoy reading about.
In the process of hunting around my hard drive while preparing for the interview, I realized that there was a good chunk of my 2009 interview (which was done for a newspaper) that I didn’t end up using on my blog….I’m planning to put that online in the next week or so and I’ll share that here when I do.
But yeah, thanks for linking the interview here and spreading the word to other Hornsby fans

There’s at least two on Bride that I picked out as being from the download….”Country Doctor” and “Resting Place,” which made me really happy because both of those are GREAT versions, which any of you who have heard the holiday download will know that.
BTW – as I expressed to Si in email – this website has been a godsend for me over the years as a Bruce fan…longtime stomping ground although I recently had to re-register here for the board because my previous login apparently was vaporized, perhaps with a board upgrade at some point. But I’m always here, checking out setlists and all of the stuff being discussed at any moment!

Must be nice to get those promos, huh? Whenever you wanna pass those on, feel free to let me know! BTW, the Pop Dose site looks interesting; again, a pleasure to find something that touches on a variety of popular culture and etc, with depth. Too many sites are obviously for the younger reader (nothing wrong with that
) or, referencing the more pop-oriented, are too heavily skewed (vis a vis Hornsby) towards neo-Deadish followers (Phish, etc).

ParticipantHey Matt…
Great interview/article. It’s always fascinating to read Bruce’s words on the evolution of his music and just how the magic happens.
Thanks!

ParticipantCan anyone help me out with this?
BH says in the interview: “Everyone thought “The Way It Is” was a B-side, nobody thought that stuff was going to be big, it was just a fluke [thanks to] a wonderful accident that happened in England”
What is he referring to?
Thanks in advance.

KeymasterTwo things happened in England… Wogan played it on his radio show, and got regular requests for it.
And BBC Grandstand used it for years afterward on their closing sport headlines.
