I knew that “Calvin Broadus” sounded familiar. Should we expect Snoop fans at BH shows now? 😆

    “Snoop Dogg Town”? ;)

Oh wow, I finally get it! Snoop Dogg is Calvin Broadus, and Calvin gets a songwriting credit on “Prairie Dog Town”!

I guess Bruce figured other people have sample HIM enough, and turnabout is fair play! :)

Bruce literally DID “marry hip hop and folk,” as he said in the WaPost article! Now I Truly Understand! Ha!

Love watching this video! The guys all seem to have a blast playing this song. I didn’t know how I would feel about seeing Bruce playing dulcimer on stage. I thought it would be like when I saw Billy Joel and he opened the show center stage playing guitar and I thought, “what the heck, isn’t this the “Piano Man”? But Bruce, in all his coolness, makes the dulcimer work for him and is still able to direct the band with his back turned to them.

For the record, I’ve loved this song from day one and seeing the live video only makes it that much more enjoyable for me. The crunchy guitar riff by Doug reminds me of an homage to ’80s rock (“I Love Rock and Roll” comes to mind).

That’s all for now. I have to go watch the video again. 8-)
