Hey everyone. I’m new, but you probably already guessed that. I have a small, pretty stupid question. I know that Bruce writes about deep stuff, but a friend and I are having an arguement on what “Valley Road” is about. She says it’s about rape, but I’m pretty sure it’s about abortion. Can anyone clear this up? We might both be wrong. Thanks in advance!
Pretty sure it’s not about rape. “This time I’ll go where she wants me to go”.
I suppose you could interpret “gone to her sister’s” as gone to get an abortion. I always figured she was “gone for a while” to complete her pregnancy and put the baby up for adoption (or otherwise have it “taken care of”) out of the public eye.
