ParticipantWhat an exhausting road trip this was! Many, many miles and many, many asiles!
As usual….Many, many things to say, but…..I must report on the most memorable experience first!
Survey says…..Lexington!
Bruce played for 2 and 1/2 hours straight without a break! What an intimate venue it was! Bruce wanted the audience to know that he was in his “living room” and to ask any question and to request any song you wanted!
Some of the questions were……
Does JV sing? JV immeditely said, “No”!
Why do you like to play Tango King? Because…..It’s in a different “time signature” than my other songs, Bruce said.
Bruce talked about his last show in Lexington, which was a solo show and why he wanted to bring the Noisemakers there, and the KY Kats being the national basketball champs. He talked about one twin playing basketball at Asheville and one twin running track with the OR Beavers.
Bruce was in a “chatty mood” and brought the audience into his “living room”! 😆 It was really cool!
I have some great pics with JV, Bobby and JT!
It turned out to be JT night! Many fans of JT were there and Bruce kept on highlighting JT throughout the show! Lots of talk about JT and Captain Beefheart! Bruce even did an impersonation of Captain Beefheart in Rainbow Cadilac!
But……What made the whole road trip worth it…..Despite Ashbury Park being cancelled, was having drinks with JT and Marc from Cincy after the Lexington show! It was really cool!!!
JT had “one hour” to share with us before the bus left and…..What a great one hour it was!!!
Lots of pics to share!!!
Don’t touch that dial! Lots more to come!!!
Still havin’ a ball!

ParticipantThat sounds like an awesome show? How was the audience able to ask questions? Was it a small venue or something?
Definitely post the pictures when you can!

Red Plains, So Out, Might As Well Be Me, End of the Innocence, I Truly Understand, Pig In The Pen*, The Good Life*, Prairie Dog Town*, Nobody There But Me, Rainbow’s Cadillac, Tango King, King of the Hill > Mystery Train, minor key Mandolin Rain > Mandolin Rain > Sad Mood, Preacher In The Ring Part One > Preacher in the Ring Part Two > The Way It Is, Big RumbleJune 19, 2012 at 7:21 pm #33396David Day
ParticipantHow did you ask questions? You just asked! It was a very small, intimate venue! Bruce reminded us many times that we were in his living room and just ask. You really didn’t have to shout out or raise your voice at all. All you had to do was ask your question!
It was a very awesome show!!!
Bruce said this was the first time ever that they have done “So Out” at a show!

ParticipantWas “So Out” and audience request? Pretty cool that you got to see them play it for the first time. Would love to hear a recording!

Would love to hear a recording!“So Out”, from my understanding, was put on a napkin as a request. Bruce did make the point that they the NM’s had just learned it the night before. But……I have a feeling that they were going to play it anyway, since it was “JT night”!
For some reason…..I couldn’t help but think of Victor during this rendition!
