Soooooo,

Did I miss something, or are we still giving out year-end awards?? I sure hope we are, because I would like to nominate two of the most dedicated Bruuuce fans there ever were.

Please nominate (aw, heck, just go ahead and give it to them) Monica Layer and Jackie McNeely-Estes.

Monica has made more trips than I can count to see Bruce. She travels by bus (2-3 days) to get there. I know, because I meet her in Asheville & pick her up for the Biltmo’ Shos (and that’s a trip from Texas!!). Plus, for the upcoming Raleigh show, she will be renting a car to drive from Texas to NC…. And back the next day, with both her kids in tow. Now, if THAT’S not dedication,then I don’t know what is. Plus, Bruce’s son, Keith, is Monica’s daughter’s (Abigail) boyfriend. Now, could you split up love like that?

Now Jackie, she is a breed all unto herself. I thought I knew everything there was to know about Bruce and the Hornsby clan, but she never ceases to amaze be with the info, tidbits, and gossip she shares. I have NEVER heard a cross word come out of her mouth, no matter HOW wrong someone gets a piece of Bruce trivia. She very diplomatically corrects them, and, as far as I know, has never pissed someone off.
Also, in spite of what would normally be a life changing handicap, I have never seen it slow her down a bit. In fact, I’ll bet 90% of you aren’t even aware of it. And I ain’t tellin’!!!!!

So, please, Si and all the other powers that be, reinstate the Awards and consider these two wonderful, amazing Bruce Hornsby fans. If nothing else, it will help clear your consciences for giving that half-wit, Dreadlock Dave that obligatory award.
