KeymasterOkay, I’ve received some great ideas from some Bruuuce.com heroes as to some new content for the site. I’ll be looking to introduce as many as I can.
My favourite, which will take some time but I’m up for it, is….
… drum roll….
… a podcast!
I’m thinking like a 30-40 minute “show”, incorporating some doses/live music, I can make a few phone calls for interviews (or use old ones), maybe showcase some emerging talent again, and some general yapping.
The yapping is where you all come in! If we’re going to do this, we could drop some questions into a topic on here (maybe below), or e-mail any my way, with no set topic – something Bruce- or band-related, music-related, Si-related, UK-related… no specific subject, and I’ll get around to answering a bunch of them.
It would go up for download, just as the normal doses do (and alongside them, rather than replacing them).
How does that sound?

ParticipantWhat’s a podcast?????

ParticipantFrom pcmag.com:
“Definition of: podcast
(iPOD broadCAST) An audio broadcast that has been converted to an MP3 file or other audio file format for playback in a digital music player. Although many podcasts are played in a regular computer, the original idea was to listen on a portable device; hence, the “pod” name from “iPod.” Although podcasts are mostly verbal, they may contain music, images and video.
Just like news feeds, podcasts are made available to people via a syndication format. Users install a media aggregator program in their computers such as iTunes or Juice. Also called a “podcatcher,” the application captures the audio feeds from the Internet for downloading to the music player. See syndication format.
Podcasting Everything
Originally conceived as a way to listen to audio broadcasts, podcasting evolved to include any kind of audio as well as images and video (see photofeed and vidcast). Electronic slide shows are created as podcasts (see enhanced podcast), and “sound seeing” is the audio recording of a person’s experiences when traveling. Some museums make audio tours available as podcasts, and art students and professors create their own unauthorized and often controversial narrations of famous works. See autocasting, punchcasting and learncasting.”Hope this helps!

KeymasterBasically it’s like a radio show, that you can download and listen to.
Bruce is now signed up to take part, and is inviting questions from you all. So any burning issues or questions to put to Bruce, please e-mail them to me and I’ll put as many as I can to him.
Now’s your chance to get Bruce’s thoughts on your own topics, and hear the answers straight from the horse’s (the Hornsby’s?) mouth!

Please explain Candy Mountain Run!
It may seem that it has no true “message”, but……Does it have some “underlying subliminal (in a good way) message”? Maybe, just maybe, there’s a “message” there that you are trying to communicate? What is it??
Still havin’ a ball!

ParticipantWhat’s an MP3??
Question: I, too would like to know what in the world “Candy Mountain Run” was based on.
Question: Bruce, will you be anywhere near home about the middle of the summer?? Monica is driving (21 hours!) to Williamsburg with the kids, and she’s going to pick me up to go along. We would love to treat you to lunch (your choice) while we’re there. Send a PM.
Rest assured, there will be more questions forthcoming.

KeymasterResponse has been fantastic, with a ton of questions sent my way already.
If you have any regarding the site, or requests for music to include, or anything – drop me a note.

ParticipantWhen I first saw the subject, I thought, “hmm… bruuuce.com toys? this could be dangerous and/or interesting.” I was wondering how you’d handling the licensing for Noisemakers Action Figures. Hey!!! That gives me an idea for a fun and somewhat off-beat question to throw at Bruce: “If some enterprising manufacturer were to come out with Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemaker Poseable Action Figures, which one of you would have the Kung-Fu Grip?”

ParticipantUnfortunately, all but J.V, will have to worry about the “flocked hair” that the original G.I.Joes used to have. In fact, maybe Bruce could have “almost” real hair, that is designed to fall out at intervals. (tee hee).
BTW: Looky, looky – This is my 200th post!! I is now an edumacated Road Scholar!!! 😮
