ParticipantThe tires are rotated and the oil is changed!
I just can’t decide which way to go! 😆 So many choices and so many venues to choose!
I need some help!…..Maybe someone can help me and point me the right direction! Seems I have “vertigo”! 😆 I need some input! Where do I go from here?
:
We have bruuuce with the Noisemakers! I do need a “Noisemakers fix”! 😆 We have bruuuce with Bela!
And…..We have DDD, which you don’t want to miss!
I can either stay at home and “pick my nose” and wait for DDD, or…..I can get on the road as a Road Scholar and be a true Road Warrior! 😆 I need some help! What do I do? Where do I go from here?
:
On the other hand…..I will say……I will be right here for DDD!
DDD! You really don’t want to miss it! You really don’t!

Why not “go for it” and do everything?-including a stop in Denver? You know you want to… 😆
As for the vertigo- when your head clears, simply start driving in the direction you’re facing. Since Bruce seems to be touring almost everywhere this spring/summer, you’re bound to run into him!

Victor has a great idea that I will consider! That way, I can come out and harass SMP (again)! 😆
On the other hand……I need a a Noisemakers fix now! For some reason, I have crawl dads on my mind!
On another hand…..DDD! You don’t want to miss it! You really don’t!

ParticipantYes! The oil is change, the tires rotate, the wheels alinged and the AC serviced! I have “craw dads” on the brain and I know I will encounter some “chirpin’ mosquitos” along the way! 😆
It will be a tough task, but…..Someone has to do it! It’s my fudiciary duty! 😆
Looks like it’s “deep south” time!

ParticipantTo be stuck inside of Mobile with the Memphis blues again! The compass is pointing true south! The “chirping mosquito” repallant at hand! (Those guys have teeth!) 😆
From all prognations, seems like a good week ahead! Still don’t know how to spell Mississippi! Or how to get there, but…..My friend NOLA (New Orleans, LA) is calling me…..To Come Back to My Woods! 😆
I will faithfully and dutifully accept the call!
C’ya bye!

ParticipantDoes anyone know how to get to Meridian? Seems I have vertigo! 😆
I have a secret to tell you! You hasta come real close to hear whad mi goin ta say!
If you ever happen to get in a “spelling bee” and have to spell Mississippi, here in the south, it’s very easy!…..M I crooked letter, crooked letter I, crooked letter, crooked letter I, hump back, hump back I. Easy!
Don’t you forget it! 😆

To Be Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again…..April 29, 2011 at 7:30 pm #32545David Day
ParticipantMeridian: What a sleepy town with a sleepy audience, but a beautiful venue! This was the quietist audience I’ve ever encountered at a Noisemakers show, but surprisingly, Bruce rose to the ocassion and with the exception of Biltmore, was one of the better shows I’ve seen in many, many years.
Some scuttlebutt: For those wondering about Sonny, Sonny is back! On a sad note, JT told me he got a divorce. We agreed that we would hitch up and chase “wild women” together!
Back to My Woods! Crawl dads for lunch! Sea breeze is great and salt in the air! Time for a pint!
The weather is here! Wish you were beautiful! 😆

) Much more creative than spell check.., I haven’t thought of that one since “way back when, long time ago…”.
Isn’t there a dance that goes along with that rhyme? Who could we find to demonstrate it?
I’m joining Si in saying J’m glad you’re travels were safe.

Forgot to tell you……JT now plays a song on guitar! Won’t tell you which one, but Doug claims credit for being JT’s “guitar tech”! Seemed they really gelled with Sonny being there! JV is his usual friendly, “I’m so glad to be here” attitude! Bobby is at his best! You would not believe some of Bobby’s new talents! Bruce is playing more songs on dulcimer and his piano and vocals are back to Spirit Trail days!
It’s all good! So many thoughts! Haven’t even had time to write about Mobile!
It’s that time again! Back to My Woods!

NOLA!May 1, 2011 at 1:17 am #32549David Day
ParticipantGreetings from New Orleans! I have my speedo on and it seems I fit in well here! 😆 We’re all practicing for my “tryout”! 😆 The crowd is “cranked” and even being very helpful in pickin’ out a song for it! So far it’s a four way tie!
It smells soo good here! Don’t know if I’ll take a shower for many days to come! 😆
I’ve had my first “tsunami” and the crowd seems to be favoring Raindow’s Cadillac! But, they have a long way to go!
There’s so many thoughts and stories to share! I even have some pics this time to share, but not the quality that Carey or Kat would do; but nevertheless, some very nice pics!
Road trip back home tomorrow. Gosta get back to “reality” sometime! 😆
OMG!!! Here comes another “tsunami”! 😆 I have a fellin’ that this is goin’ to be another late, late night! Gosta get Back To My Woods!
Defenders, Defenders of the Flag!…..I can rest well tonight, whenever that may be, knowing that I’ve done my job!

NOLA!May 5, 2011 at 1:30 am #32550David Day
ParticipantThe tires were rotated, the oil was changed, and I even encountered tornados, power outages, no gas, no food, closed roads, but, somehow this Road Warrior made it thru!
I’m still tryin’ to recover from all the “tusunamis”, but…..Out of the “deep south” tour, Meridian comes to mind!
Mobile and NOLA had other bands involved and…..You just didn’t feel like you got the “full effect”……If you know what I mean!
In Meridian, Bruce came on at 7:30 and played to almost 11:00. The Show Goes On and Mandolin Rain would have made you cry! Despite the quiet crowd, Bruce was at his best! Gave a great rendition of King Of The Hill, a bluesgrass version of The Way It Is, the new Shadow Hand, Funhouse, Rainbow, and I could go on and on and on! You get the picture!
I couldn’t get him to play Tango King, but he politely reminded me that he played that the night before at Mobile. But, the next night at NOLA, he opened with it! Same with Candy Mountain Run.
The main thought that comes to mind (tonight) is…..Whenever it’s Bruce and Bruce only, he will play till the cows come home! When other bands are involved, he can’t do that!
Anyway…..Speaking of the cows coming home!……
When the sun is setting and the cows are comin’ home……There is no other place I would rather be than Bruuuce!
That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it! 😆

ParticipantDavid….thanks for the reports! Meridian sounds like it would have been a great one to be at!
I’ve got three Hornsby shows on my upcoming radar for the summer…Cleveland, Kettering, OH and an alleged Columbus show. Can’t wait!

You really should!
On the other hand…..Maybe you should plan an “Apres Bruuuce” day along the way! I ended up at Bourbon Street and it made “the tour of duty” even better!
Maybe I should come up there and show you how it’s done! Who knows…..You might like it! 😆

ParticipantGlad to hear that your travels went well David! Thanks for the report. Are we going to get to see some pics?
We’ve been so spoiled here in the NE that so far the tour schedule leaves us feeling a little neglected. Hopefully there will be a string of northeast dates announced eventually.
I’m on board for CT, Vienna VA, and Longwood Gardens outside Philly. But it’s a LONG wait until August!

ParticipantSpeaking of thoughts from a Road Scholar..
Since the Road scholars have so much experience and information, thought I might ask them for some opinions.
I was considering saving up funds for the upcoming Jam Cruise that happens in 2012…Jan 9-14th. Anyone ever went on one..worth the money? This the first time Bruce and the band ever been on one? Just the first time I’ve noticed one, but hey I’m not a road scholar.
Don’t know if I’m going to spend the funds yet or not..trying to see if its worth it.
Honestly its two of my favorite things…a cruise, which I’ve always wanted to take, and secondly a Bruce show…both at once..hard to decide whether I should or should not??
Thanks for any opinions!!

Sounds like you’ve answered your own question; Hornsby and a cruise. Well, there ya go… 😆 (Hold on — how could a cruise be simultaneously a favorite thing AND something you’ve always wanted to take? Unless you mean a cruise with Bruce, and that you’ve already been for a cruise without Bruce
…)
I’ve never been on one, but have thought about it. The timing and the expenses have never really worked out, and I think that I’d be walking around humming either “The Love Boat” theme or that horrible Celine tune from “Titanic” the whole time.
Plus, I like to go home after a show, not back to a bunk…but hey, that’s me!
It’s a good opportunity for BH to wow the potheads and trustafarians that I understand populate said cruises. Another reason that I’ve been hesitant to attend one o’ dem’ cruises, mon, know what I mean, kind bro’? Too old to do that shit. Would be another thing ENTIRELY if was getting paid to play…
Between that and Bonna, BH and The NM will be showing many unconverted how it’s done. It’s just that a few of us older younguns won’t be able to swing it…hope you can, BTweets!

My pics are on my cell phone and not that great of quality compared to yours! I don’t know how to even download them to my hard drive. I tried to text some to SMP and MOLO since I have their cell numbers, but couldn’t even figure out how to do that either.
This picture thing is obviously not my gift! But…..Being “C of B” is! You wonder how it happened? He just picked it up from dad! 😆

ParticipantAnother thought (tonight)…..
After surviving tornadoes, closed roads, no gas, no food……I finally pulled into Meridian from Mobile and decided I would “check out” downtown and the venue. What a “sleepy” town it was! I decided to take a lap “around the block”, which put me in the back of the theater. There was Bruce’s bus and his bus driver washing his window! I couldn’t help but pull over. No problem parking. No parking meters. Just me and Bruce’s bus and his driver!
I could hear “sound check” goin’ on, but I couldn’t help but ask Bruce’s driver a few questions! All this is “here sa”, but seems he had some stories to tell!
Don’t touch that dial! 😆
