ParticipantDreadlock Dave,
Okay, apparently I’m not in on the joke. Why red and black with a capital G?
Perhaps instead, you should take the Valley Road. I know for a fact that there is something going on over yonder down the road tonight. You know, the one that’s past those city lights way out to the south of the county, where the paper mill runs.

ParticipantDavid Day wrote:After surviving tornadoes, closed roads, no gas, no food……I finally pulled into Meridian from Mobile and decided I would “check out” downtown and the venue. What a “sleepy” town it was! I decided to take a lap “around the block”, which put me in the back of the theater. There was Bruce’s bus and his bus driver washing his window! I couldn’t help but pull over. No problem parking. No parking meters. Just me and Bruce’s bus and his driver!
I could hear “sound check” goin’ on, but I couldn’t help but ask Bruce’s driver a few questions! All this is “here sa”, but seems he had some stories to tell!Don’t touch that dial! 😆
I probably got “too much information” 😆 but…..I now know who the “snorer” is, the “whiner” is, the “joker” is, the “complainer” is and the one they all stay away from when he is sleeping! 😆
Like I said…..Too much information! 😆
Anyone want to guess who is who?

ParticipantHey David,
It’s so nice to hear the reports from the road. Once upon a time, I was the one traipsing around the country following these boys from town to town. As a Grad student then teacher, it just seemed to work out for me during school breaks. Man was I spoiled! I wish it were still so…
I was so pleased to be able to make it out to the Northwest to my former hometown shows… and am very much excited by the fact that there seem to be monthly shows in the Northeast coming up – end of Aug/Early Sept – NYC and Portsmouth, End of Sept/Early Oct – NJ and Boston. I’ll be hitting those shows for sure.
Just saying that I’m glad you’re there to carry the torch!
Keep having that ball!

It’s always good to hear from you!
It really is!
Wish you could make Biltmore! It’s always “special”!
As far as “carrying the torch”……It’s a tough job, but someone has got to do it! 😆
Luv ya!

ParticipantI’ve been to a lot of shows, but…..There’s always something “special” about Biltmore!
It could be the fact that the venue is “drop dead gorgeous”, there is no “curfew” and Bruce can play forever if he chooses or the fact that Bruce says that it’s one of his favorite venues.
Whatever the reason…..There seems to always be some form of “energy” that draws me there, time and time again!
There is no way to explain it! There is no way to rationalize it! It seems the “white witch” of Biltmore likes Bruce too! Unless you’ve been there, you have no idea to what I’m saying!
But……Whatever it is……
My tires are dutifully rotated and my oil dutifully changed! It’s a “calling” that I can’t seem to know how to explain, but for whatever reason…..I hear the Biltmore “call” once again!
Still havin’ a ball!

ParticipantI have to agree with you about the Biltmore,David. I’ve been privileged to attend 2 shows there & there is nothing else in the world like the feeling you experience at that place.
I haven’t seen the “white witch” of Biltmore- guess I need to pay more attention to mt surroundings!
I’m “fired up!”. 😆 Can’t wait for the concert.
Also, can’t wait to see you,MVF, Monica & the rest of the Bruuuce.com crew who will be there.

ParticipantI just have to post this as a Thought From a Road Scholar! 😆
Normally, my Thoughts From A Road Scholar attempts to “engage” you in some form, shape or fashion, but…..Over this Labor Day weekend, I have been “engaged”! Something for me to think about, contemplate, consider, something that I think you will find funny, but……Something that did make a little bit of sense to me! 😆
I was at a party and it was suggested that it’s time for me to get another dawg! Everyone chimed in and the consensus was……I should get a dawg and name it Bruuuce! 😆 That way……I could always be yelling “Bruuuce”! 😆 Stay in practice if you would! 😆
The funny thing about it is…..I’m actually considering it! 😆 I could wake up in the morning yelling for Bruuuce! I could drive my neighbors crazy yelling for Bruuuce! I could keep everyone one up at night yelling for Bruuuce! 😆 Think about the opportunites! 😆
It does make sense to me!
When I can’t find a date for a show…….There would always be Bruuuce! 😆
What do you thing?

ParticipantGlad I read your post carefully,David. If I’d only skimmed the surface, I’d have been preparing to buy rice (or bird seed) & wondering if you were going to register at Bed Bath and Beyond or Ikea. 😆
I think you should definitely get a dog-oops,forgive me,I mean dawg. Remember,”a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”.
Sounds like a good idea to me.. And of course, the dawg’s name HAS to be Bruuuce.
Keep us posted on this new venture!

ParticipantHey David-
There have been very few years in my life when I have not shared my home with at least one dog. I can only think of one reason not to bring another Bruuuce into your life and that’s is that he’ll miss you when you’re on the road following the original Bruuuce.
It all makes perfect sense to me and Jackie’s comment makes the most compelling argument. I say go for it!!!

Participantgdwoman wrote:So….. What will you do if the Pooch of your fancy turns out to be female? It’s funny that you metion that! 😆
Get the picture! 😆 That was the general concensus of the topic of conversation! We were all “belly laughing” over this! It was really funny! 😆
My “friends” all made the decision that it is time for me to get another dawg……And, it has to be a female dawg named Bruuuce! 😆
And yes…..Bruuuce could go with me to all the shows! 😆
What can I say? 😆 I have taken it under “advisement”! 😆

Participanttreah wrote:And of course, the dawg’s name HAS to be Bruuuce.
Keep us posted on this new venture!Then…..It was decided to have a bruuuce calling contest! Get the picture! Some very professional type people, both males and females alike, yelling bruuuce from the top of a houseboat! It was halarious!
Not to worry!…..You can sleep well at night knowing that the “C of B” won that contest handsdown! 😆
Meanwhile, back at the ranch……The decision has been made for me that there must will be “tryouts” for bruuuuce! The first “tryouts” will be this Sunday afternoon on “the island”! 😆 Can’t wait to see what is in stored for me! 😆
On the other hand……I’ve made the decision that lady bruuuuce has to have three characteristics!
a. bruuuce needs to be a “water dog”! Be able to swim and fetch a ball!
b. bruuuce needs to be able come out of the water, shake herself off while singing Across the River!
c. And…..bruuuce needs to be able to serve me a Long Tall Cool One while playing piano! 😆
That’s not too much to ask! Now is it? 😆That poor dawg! I’ll probably be yelling bruuuce in my sleep! 😆
I’ll let you know how it goes! I’m getting a “warm and fuzzy” feeling over it! We may finally have a “mascot”! 😆

The first “tryouts” for “Lady bruuuce” was on “the island” yesterday and…..What a great “showing” it was! K-9s of all shapes, colors and sizes! You would have been impressed! Get the picture…..It was a “dawg day” for sure! 😆
They all could serve me a Long Tall Cool One, swim, fetch a ball in the water, some did come out of the water singing Across the River, but not one of them could play Spider Fingers! 😆
The one thing I can’t decide…..Should “Lady bruuuce” be a mut, a true Heinz 57, an eclectic conglomeration, sorta like the Noisemakers are, or…..a true “pure bread” like Bruce? I just can’t decide! Maybe, just maybe, I need some help in this decision? 😆

ParticipantI vote mutt. I also vote for a rescue from the humane society, pound or SPCA…. these dogs are almost always the most eager to please as they know you have saved their little doggie lives (so therefore, would probably submit happily to piano or singing lessons as necessary to meet your requirements).

ParticipantOMG! It’s that time again!
The tires have been rotated, the oil is changed, new brakes and fully aligned! 😆 On the other hand…..This alignment is taking me in many directions! Far, far away from home! And…..In many directions I’ve never been before! Across the River and The Great Divide! 😆
Not to worry!…..I’ve been well “trained” for this! Have many friends to bail me out of jail along the way! 😆 This “mission” is to go to as many shows as possible in eight days!
Don’t touch that dial! Have many “surprises” lined up along the way!

ParticipantHey, give us an itinerary and maybe someone along the way can lend a room, spare a meal, or at least stand on the side of the highway and wave as you drive by!! In fact, if you happen to swing through central NC, Treah and I might have to set up a “meet up” between meet ups!!!!
