KeymasterNothing to do with Bruuuce and co, but that’s what this section of the Board is for!
I have spent the past several weeks engrossed in Breaking Bad. I won’t spoil any of it for you, but when I say “engrossed”, I mean watching an episode, watching it again, listening to at least four podcasts, watching the commentary version on previous DVDs, reading the online message boards…
Is there something wrong with me?!
And had any TV show grabbed you similarly?

Participant*House, when it was on. I am so intrigued by Hugh Laurie,I bought his 2 blues/jazz piano CDs. He’s not as technically skilled a piano player as Bruce, but I love that he really has a great time playing. I also like the fact that he respects the “old time” blues & jazz forms of music, but still puts some original twists in the older songs.
*Monk-just starting to watch this series in syndication
*Breaking Bad and Mad Men are on my “shows I want to watch” list.

ParticipantI’m with you regarding Breaking Bad, Si. Very well-written show with quality characters you can connect with on many levels. The Sopranos was another series that had the recipe down for a great series: complex characters, believable storylines and twists-and-turns.

KeymasterI fell away from the Sopranos – not really sure why, as I always enjoyed it. I think I’m only capable of dedicating my time to one show at a time!
I came into Breaking Bad late – maybe a year ago – and caught up on Netflix here in the UK. Now here I am waiting for the last three episodes ever. We have a chart in work that marks off who’s seen which episodes, so we don’t spoil it for anyone else!

That’s a brilliant idea! There are days at work when I cannot talk to anyone for fear of hearing a spoiler! The Sopranos had ebbs and flows, like most long-running series, but the final season is definitely worth seeing.

ParticipantOh, but how can you NOT include “Dexter”????? I know there is only one more episode for the series, but I have become totally engrossed (pun intended) in the whole premise of the show. In fact, I have compiled a list of my own that, had the series continued, I would have sent to Dexter Morgan. Hint, hint.
Hey, anybody remember his sister, Deborah, when she played the oldest sister on “Seventh Heaven”? Quite the turn-around for THAT actress, huh?
Monica, I agree with your original observation: the more I think about it, the more correlations I see between “Dexter” and “Paperboy”. Hmmmmmm……..

ParticipantMVF, Don’t even get started with Dexter. My hubby is consumed with that show. He has just about every episode saved to his computer, so if you ever have a fix to watch the older shows again, please let me know. We can send your way. Don’t be surprised if the next time you talk to him he will talk for hours just about the show Dexter.
Yes the similarities of “Dexter” and “Paperboy” are very close….once again my theme for Halloween!

ParticipantOh, yeah, I forgot. Speaking of “Levitate”, I got the rats at the local temporary Halloween store. Now, I actually got mine right AFTER Halloween, when they were 75% off. See, I didn’t want them for Halloween, I had OTHER uses for them ……..
