ParticipantMissed out because the wife wanted to see BB King at Red Rocks instead (first world problems). After the unbelievable Boulder show 2 months ago, curious to see how the Denver show was. Last time he played both within a short time span, they were completely different shows, as you might imagine.

Participant😯 You skipped seeing Bruce to go see BB King sing parts of two songs and play guitar for 12 minutes…seriously thats basically all you get from BB these days.
Unless you got more please let me know, because usually his show will consist of his band playing for about an hour with BB talking and playing with his guitar for a few minutes then talking with a little singing here and there and a little bit of guitar playing…I couldn’t imagine trading a chance to see Bruce for something like that.
I hope you had a good time thoughedit: I hear ya if you never seen BB King before as it is a tempting thought to go see a ‘blues legend’ but its also a lesson learned after you witness what goes on at his shows. Hopefully you got lucky and he actually played/sang a full concert for you guys.

ParticipantI’ve seen BB before, but the wife hadn’t. It was really heartbreaking to skip, but it was a tough sell since I’ve Bruce so recently. Talk about being conflicted! Hearing BB talk was better than anything else. Buddy Guy still has a bit more bite, he’s here tomorrow night, not sure if we’ll go or not. I think he’s a better entertainer, but he’s only in his 70’s…
The last minute Boulder show in June was so good I’m still reeling from it, though. It’s going to have to do for now. Hoping Bruce stays touring for a while now that the sons are off to college.

ParticipantMIssed the Boulder show and was glad to see the Botanic Gardens show, even though we were way late and arrived just in time to see Bruce. He was only allowed to play until 9:30 and got started at about 8 p.m. He definitely kept it up-tempo to get as much in as possible…

A Mary sighting? Haven’t seen/heard from her in ages!
Sounds like it was a great show!

ParticipantHey M3! It was a great little show! The three openers really floored me!
Fatherhood and life in general have kept me from participating here as much as I would like, but I hope to have more free time soon! Take care!
