MVF
ParticipantDate: 3-26-10
Time: 8:15 am, EDT
Place: MVF’s house
Scene: MVF is in the kitchen frying bacon and peeling potatoes and onions ( I know. I know. But hey, we’re all going to die someday, and I plan to go out well fed). The Today Show is on, not that she’s watching; she keeps it on for the noise.Suddenly, a VERY familiar sound fills the room. Hey, could it be??? Yes!!!! They were using the intro to “Swan Song” as the background music for the item about some family.
As the music plays, MVF is just standing there in front of the TV, swaying slightly and grinning like a Cheshire. This goes on for 3 or 4 minutes, until…..
….the smoke detector cuts on because nobody is tending the stove. OOOPS.
But it was a nice way to start the day.
(PS The bacon was salvaged to some extent)

ParticipantI wasn’t even awake yet, so can’t say I heard it.
But it sure sounds like an MVF thing to me. I’m just glad I’m not the only one who soars into the clouds and lets the rest of the world fade away when I hear a Bruce song. I do that when I go grocery shopping and hear a song playing. I start singing and people look at me weird…but who cares, at least I’m having fun!!
Just glad you didn’t burn down the house. Can always get more bacon!!! Can’t get another MVF!!!

ParticipantGlad you’re OK,MVF. Monica is right you’re irreplaceable!
I didn’t hear it either because the TVs in the office building break room where I work were tuned to Headline News…
When I’m listening to music (usually Bruce, of course
) on the way to work each morning, I know the other passengers on the city bus think I’m weird. I’ll tap my hand or foot to the music. I was listening to the Ricky and Bruce version of Super Freak this week and ended up grinning from ear to ear.
MVF-peeling potatoes & onions…were you making hash browns? -Yum!

Oh, now you’ve opened the flood gates. All those who breathed a sigh of relief knowing there will only be ONE MVF, raise your hand (just one hand, Dreadlock Dave). 😈
Hey, I hope SOMEbody else heard Bruce this morning. If no one else heard it, that must mean…
… I’ve started listening to the voices in my head again, and this time, it’s Bruce!!!! 😮 😮 😮BTW, Monica….
What do you mean, it sounds like an MVF thing??? Just because I burn the bacon or lock my keys in the car at the Biltmore after The Concert doesn’t necessarily mean anything……does it?Jackie
Yes, it was homemade hashbrowns, and they sorta made up for the burned bacon. Having been unemployed for 10 months now, I have time to actually COOK everyday. Dusted off the recipe box, and started cooking at least once a day. Sorta have to, “cause we ain’t even got a dollar for the “Value Meal” list.March 26, 2010 at 9:09 pm #31925babytweety2yo
ParticipantHey MVF you know I can’t forget the keys in the car episode, but I forgave you. I had such a fun time..it was just all part of the adventure!
And, I’m just messing with you….your the best!!! I probably would have done worse..knowing me. Course thats why they don’t let me use anything but a microwave and even that I can sometimes ruin. 🙄 Good thing for finger foods for kids that don’t need to be cooked!! Crackers and cheese…mmm..thinking thats a line in some Bruce song????? Trivia anyone???
The kids sort of have an idea about this summer, but trying to keep it under wraps for a surprise, so they’ll even be more excited when the time comes, but they can’t wait to meet you. I think that makes it the most exciting is meeting mommy’s friends!!

ParticipantMVF,
I know what you mean about cooking more at home now. We’re doing that more these days too.
I sure wish I’d heard Swan Song this morning. Pleasant surprises on TV are a rare occurrence now.
Monica,
Sounds like you have a fun-filled summer in store!Jackie

ParticipantI’m sorry. I missed that. Of course, I totally missed that this board was becoming more and more dominated by female posters until someone else mentioned it, so I can’t really be accused of being the most attentive soul in the world lately. Maybe once the basketball tournament is over…. (heh heh)

If the men on here started paying attention to what the women are saying they might accuse of “feeling ill”! 😆
Working in the news media, I hear Bruce drops on radio and TV all the time. I usually make a mental note of it but always forget to write it down. Glad you caught one of those instances, MVF.

I don’t think you earn any points for stating the obvious, SMP. 😆

Looks like I’ll have to summon my men to the border to keep you from sneaking in this week. I won’t have you ruining my sunshine-filled week!
The Easter Bunny knows it’s not safe to stop by my house by now. David and I will fire up the grill to serve as a warning! 😆

ParticipantI love it – summon all the guys to make sure I don’t cross the border. Funny, but Bruce has tried that with me as well and I always get right on through.
Good luck with that.
No EAster bunny?? Not even for the twins?? I knew you were a meany from the get-go.
SMP
p.s. Remember, no bbq crap on the grill. I bet Jackie even remembers that if you ask her.

No, of course the Easter Bunny comes for the twins. Then later that day, we have barbecue and Cadbury eggs. Everyone is satisifed! 😆
I think you overestimate Bruce’s awareness of your travelings. I’ll put out a warning to Bruce about you.

Mary,
If you stop by molo3’s house in your Easter Bunny suit, be sure he & David know it’s you. I wouldn’t want to hear of any unfortunate grilling accidents over the holiday weekend.Jackie

ParticipantYa, “unfortunate”, I bet. “Oops officer, we didn’t realize that was Mary in her Easter suit. Normally she’s in her b’day suit.” 😆 There’s nothing that can keep Jackie and me away.
keep trying, though.
