I agree, you can tell how Bruce really does a lot for the fans. I was born in the wrong decade. I wish I was @ at a range show also. But I loved the Circa 2006 Noisemakers also!

I was pleasantly surprised to witness David Mansfield sit in on a few songs with Bruce a few years ago. Was VERY cool.

Love the days of Bruce “All Request Sets”… he did them all the time back then. ” If you dont’ like it, suck it up because you picked it” – A standard Bruce line

yup, lot of good boots from ’99. The only thing that makes me cringe on some 90’s Bruce is Debbie Henry…..to me, it just doesn’t’ work for Bruce’s music…….although I do like Bonnie Raitt on “The Tide will Rise”….. different style I suppose

    Two words

    Face Book

I’m still lurking. And love to chat about the Bruce “Golden Years” Which for me are 1980’s-early 2000’s.

I tried but levels were too hot. Pretty much a useless recording…..hopefully one surfaces. Really enjoy Red Plains

A great setlist and a pretty awesome performance. I still cannot believe he didn’t do. ” The Way It is”, Mandolin Rain, End of Innocence, Valley Road, Show Goes on Etc!. First time I’ve ever seen him do that. Which I think he really enjoyed!

Lately really enjoy 1988-1998 (Minus Debbie H). I know a big stretch…but some spectacular recordings in that stretch.

Not much of a story, but here goes, the first time I met Bruce was when I was @ college in Florida. March 22, 2003. at the Stuart Art’s Festival.

I was following Bruce on and off for many years, thanks to as cliche it sounds “The Way it Is” and movies like Backdraft/Tin Cup.

I also got a hold of some bootlegs thanks to a friend of mine, who really opened up my catalog of Bruce and his real genius. Always intrigued by his piano playing, something I never really heard before in pop music of the 80’s/ 90’s, sure the piano was there and there was Billy Joel and Elton John etc, but the piano was not always a focal point as it was in the style of Bruce.

I stumbled on Si’s website around 2001 and as they say the rest is history. I made it my quest to see the man in person. March 22,2003 was the day.

Bruce played a short festival set (solo). I remember people screaming for “Every Little Kiss” and Bruce politely said, “nope, not gonna play that one”. It was a fun show, very laid back and loose. Was a different way of seeing him from the albums I became familiar with.

Afterwards, I was walking back to my car and I saw a group gathering around a trailer. I said to myself, I bet that’s Bruce. Sure enough, a small line was formed and people were waiting for Bruce to come out. After about 10 minutes, Bruce came out to greet his fans and sign autographs/take photos. It was a great day, I was only 18 at the time, but I knew I was a Bruce fan for life. Yes, I will post my photo here….. a pretty terrible first photo…you’ll see why ;)
