ParticipantHere’s a cliche interview question but always fun to hear the response “Do you remember and if so can you describe hearing yourself for the first time on the radio”

ParticipantI think you’re right about these guys. Very cool!. Hey Si, I’ve got a website idea. What you think about getting a list together of who Bruce has played with over the years? Generations of the bands (Sonny, Molo,JT,JV,Bobby etc.) I know there’s the Wiki Section, but I was thinking more a breakdown on the Bands.Timeline
1984-1991 Bruce Hornsby and the Range
Members List1998-2013 Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers
Members listetc.

ParticipantDave Matthews is an interesting Idea! I think they would make some pretty awesome music!. Especially when they throw some horns in. Could be very cool. Actually little off topic but, I was watching a Vh1 special that Bruce did and noticed a trumpet player and a different Bass guitar player..looked like it was from the 90s. Anyone know who these guys were?

ParticipantI just noticed this, I joined here 2 days after you Si!

ParticipantWell, I for, very much appreciate this board and all your efforts Si!. While I may not login daily, It has been a great resource to make friends, score some old tunes that were missing from my collection and also have a lengthy discussion from all these Bruce. (Something you really can’t do in a Facebook comment.) I don’t think “forums” are going to ever go away as I know some other hobby ones are very much alive! To me, this place is actually a nice sanctuary from Facebook.. it’s easy to write a quick comment or “like” something….but much more…intelligent to have a conversation. I hope this place never goes away, but I DO hope it becomes easier for you to manage, so you don’t need to keep fighting the spammers….ya need any moderators to help out?

ParticipantOnly 1 hit! wow. (Valley Road) I’m shocked he didn’t do Mandolin Rain, Show Goes on, Way it is …etc….Actually I take that back
A.J.
ParticipantThanks Si! I enjoyed the responses and thanks for letting us “in”
A.J.
ParticipantVery cool. Thanks!
On another note, what kind of piano is Bruce playing? I’m assuming it’s a type of electronic keyboard….can’t tell the brand..

You might be right.. This is very close, Gibb seems pretty darn good especially his solo on cyclone. I’m just not crazy about the fiddle…..

ParticipantPut me down for a book idea also!. Collage of photos and a rolling history. But I like the Wiki idea Si. Good work

ParticipantI agree. And I guess it’s really hard to say exactly what happened..how it happened and why. However, like anything, you either embrace it or you don’t. Let’s face it, and I don’t know Bruce’s finances, but I’d assume he’s been smart with money, @ 60 does he really need to tour anymore to survive? Probably not. He’s most likely doing it to for his love of music and creation, the art of music. He’s found a niche and he’s carving it out.
The only thing I can’t believe @JF1 is your comment on not capturing enough people to continue his previous style with the Noisemakers, every show I went to was practically sold out if not sold out completely. Now I can only speak for the east coast USA, can’t speak for anywhere else…. perhaps the south and west was less the case..?
Bruce solo is fun too it’s certainly a more laid back affair and you get to see a master at work, but the Noisemakers will always remain my favorite..not to be confused with Kentucky Noisemakers.

ParticipantDitto! Thanks for all of this Si and will be donating shortly. 20 days of fun! Awesome.
A.J.
ParticipantNo worries Si. If it’s something easy to do. Then great. If not don’t go crazy. You the best!

ParticipantPlease refresh of possible with new board

ParticipantSuprised Bruce busted out ELK. He hates that song. “Doesn’t ring true anymore”….or at least it didn’t a few years ago to him…
A.J.
ParticipantIndeed. Many “adult themes” lost in Bruce lyrics. Wonder. Who has a dirtier mind Bruce or John….Sad Moon should also be mentioned. “Do you need a date or just a little fooling around”hmmmmm
A.J.
ParticipantIt would be interesting to go back in time and see what people were saying when Doug/Bobby first joined the band…
A.J.
Participant@ JF1. “I’m very interested to hear more of the new arrangement.”
Same here, interested to hear their take on some of the “old” noisemakers specialty jams. “Gonna be some changes made” comes to mind. Doug used to crush it with some of his solos in there.
A.J.
ParticipantMost Def. On my dream setlist too. Never heard it live in person.
A.J.
ParticipantI actually like the Old Playground, wonder why such a low score….I guess they all can’t be in the 90% percentile, or can then be
A.J.
ParticipantI don’t think I’m going to see Bruce this year either, going to wait till the next tour. Nothing that can work in my summer schedule this time around…
A.J.
ParticipantFavorite live rendition of one of Bruce’s songs. Most memorable show you’ve seen live.
A.J.
ParticipantYay! Looking forward to the newness
A.J.
ParticipantAt what point did Bruce learn about Bruuuce.com and contact you or you him about getting together?
When was your first Bruce concert?
Where do you get a lot of your material/inspiration/content for the website?
What’s the furthest your traveled to see Bruce?
